Story
Although she is the smallest of the litter, little 4 month old Lyssa is the most determined, fierce, and playful of her siblings. She is a gray tabby polydactyl girl with extra toes on all four of her paws. Her foster mom has nicknamed her Polly. The extra toes don't stop her for a moment. Being a lap cat isn't Lyssa's style, but if you hold her upside down in your arms like a baby she will be content ... for a few minutes, then she has to be down to play and run - she does not slow down! She likes to be in control of her situation and her interaction with people and other cats. When the time is right, she will come and sit on the table next to you for pets and loving. Lyssa eats dry and wet food, loves fresh water and treats, and uses the litter box like a champ. She loves to play in the cat tunnel with her siblings, loves string toys, and loves to play with her foster mom too. Lyssa needs to be adopted with her sister, Lyndsay, who is more sedate, but is more than happy to wrestle and play with Lyssa. Adoption fee is a minimum $110 per kitten donation to Feral Fixers. All cats are up to date on shots, microchipped, dewormed, fixed, and FeLV/FIV tested. Discounted adoption fee if two kittens are adopted together, $175 for a pair. Brief screening questionnaire and contract apply! Please email gotfriendlies@gmail.com or call (630) 881-7459 for more information

Adjustment takes time for both you and your new family member, so remember to be patient and enjoy this new and exciting time!Included in the adoption fee are age appropriate vaccinations, FeLV/FIV testing, deworming, spay or neuter surgery, and microchip. Anti-Declawing Policy:All cats and kittens will have a no declaw policy in their adoption contract with us!  Declawing is a series of bone amputations.  Declawing is more accurately described by the term de-knuckling and is not merely the removal of the claws, as the term “declawing” implies.  In humans, fingernails grow from the skin, but in animals that hunt prey, the claws grow from the bone; therefore, the last bone is amputates so the claw cannot re-grow.  Declawing is one of the most painful, routinely performed procedures in all of veterinary medicine.  Each toe of the cat is amputated at the first joint.  Declawing a cat is equivalent in a person to amputating the entire first knuckle of every finger.  Declawing is done strictly for the benefit of the owner.  There are NO benefits to the cat and NO good reasons to declaw. Declawing can lead to behavior changes.  A declawed cat has no way to defend itself and may resort to biting more often.  Due to pain, they may stop using the litterbox.  There are humane alternatives to declawing.  Cats can be trained to use scratching posts.  They should have their nails trimmed regularly.  There is double sided sticky tape that can be put on furniture to deter a cat from scratching there.  There are also nail caps called Soft Paws that are glued onto a cat's naile cat’s nails without harm. ##2217385##

Story
Meet Big Yella - the sweet, fluffy, and chatty feline who is looking for his forever home! He was rescued off the streets when the finder realized how friendly he was. He has since thrived in his foster home and fully appreciates the indoor life. This handsome ginger cat may take a few days to warm up to a new household, but he is also incredibly friendly and loves to be near his human companions once he settles in. One of the best things about Big Yella is his fluffy bunny-like fur that invites endless petting. His giant pumpkin head and cheek tufts add to his unique charm, making him truly one of a kind. When he's not busy chatting or displaying his fluffy coat, Big Yella enjoys engaging in activities like eating and sleeping - simple pleasures that bring him joy. During his time in foster care, Big Yella has been around older kids and enjoys their company. He seems to prefer a quiet and independent household. Therefore, he needs to be the only pet in the home. While he may not be the most playful cat, Big Yella appreciates short cuddles, sitting next to you, and tolerating some affection. He is easy to care for, clean, and independent, making him a low-maintenance companion for those looking for a relaxed feline friend. He also might not come hang with guests who visit the house, but he is always up to relax and provide companionship to his people. If you're interested in welcoming this fluffy, friendly, and chatty cat into your home, Big Yella would love nothing more than to find a loving family who appreciates his unique qualities and enjoys his company. Adopt Big Yella today and experience the joy of having this lovable feline as part of your life! Story
Meet Moe and Coqui! This sweet pair of bonded young brothers are looking for a loving new home after their owner was tragically forced to give them up due to her terminal illness. These sweet Maine Coon mix brothers have been through a lot, but you’d never know it by their sunny dispositions!  Moe is a very sweet and calm kitty, but he still loves to wrestle with his brother and chase his spring toys around the house! He can be shy at first, but as he gets more comfortable around you, he will become a constant companion, sleeping next to you while you work or watch tv, and following you around the house. Moe can’t wait to find a safe and loving furever home! He is bonded to his brother, Coqui, so the two will need to be adopted together. Moe is a very friendly and easy-going kitty and he also loves to play with other animals, so he would be a good fit for a home that already has other pets. He was previously in a foster home with multiple dogs and he did very well with all of them. He has not yet met any cats other than his brother, but given a slow and patient introduction he would mostly likely be able to adapt to a home with other resident cats. Moe is a little shy and would probably enjoy a quieter home, but he is easy going enough to be flexible. Moe and Coqui are fairly independent and can entertain one other, so while they do love spending time with their humans, they would be ok left alone for stretches of time as well. And while they don’t have much experience with children, they would likely do well with them, especially older children who understand cat behavior and respect their boundaries. Likewise, while these boys are low maintenance kitties in most ways, their future family should be aware that they are long haired cats who will require frequent brushing in order to prevent matted fur. Moe and Coqui are amazing, sweet kitties who will be a joy in anyone’s home! These goofy brothers are what we’d sometimes lovingly refer to as adorable idiots. They love to get into high jinks and play pranks on one another… and sometimes they seem to be sharing one braincell between the two of them. Luckily, their goofy antics make them that much more charming! We have endless stories about these two and their shenanigans. Once, while playing with his brother, Moe managed to accidentally close a closet door, trapping his brother inside for several minutes. Once their foster mom realized and opened the door, neither of them seemed to notice the problem. Another hilarious time occurred when Coqui, while investigating some carboard boxes, got his entire head stuck inside a small box and then began walking around with the box on his head, meowing. His foster mom immediately removed it, and put the box away, only for him to search it out not 5 minutes later and re-insert his head into the box and become stuck again. That was the day we learned that coqui’s curiosity is both a strength and a weakness when it’s paired with the fact that he’s not the sharpest knife in the drawer. It’s a good thing he’s pretty! When they’re not playing pranks, Moe and Coqui love to play! Moe’s all-time favorite toy is the long stick toy with ribbons tied to it. He never gets tired of it! Moe can’t wait to show you his impressive acrobatics.  We’re sure you’ll fall head over heels for these little court jesters!   Moe loves to be pet, but he isn’t a huge fan of being picked up and carried around. He absolutely loves being near people! Moe can often be found curled up next to his humans on the couch or in bed. Once he trusts you, he will become your shadow and follow you all over, especially if you head into the kitchen… this little guy is a snack fiend! Some of Moe’s favorite things are head scratches, sleeping in a comfy chair, chasing toys, and wrestling with his brother. He’s a happy little guy who is always in a cheerful mood! If you’re ready to see how much love and joy these adorably fluffy and goofy brothers can bring to your home, please contact us to meet them! They can’t wait to meet you! These sweet Maine Coon mix brothers have been through a lot, but you’d never know it by their sunny dispositions! Coqui (pronounced “cookie”) has a goofy and sweet personality… although not many street smarts. He’s more outgoing than his brother and always curious about you’re up to. He loves to be the center of attention and you’ll often find him lying belly up on the floor while you work, or half in your lap while you watch TV. Don’t worry, half of one of these big guys is still plenty of cat! Coqui can’t wait to find a safe and loving furever home! He is bonded to his brother, Moe, so the two will need to be adopted together. Aside from shadows, Coqui’s favorite toys are spring toys, sticks, and ribbon toys! He can’t wait to show you his impressive acrobatics. Coqui’s greatest battle in life is fighting every single shadow he’s ever seen. Luckily for us, that leads to some hilarious scenes. We’re sure you’ll fall head over heels for these little court jesters!   Coqui is so affectionate and he loves being pet and curling up for a cuddle! He always wants to be where the action is and he especially loves to be around people. He will want to be in the room with you at all times, even if that room is the bathroom. Coqui may take a few weeks to get comfortable, but once he does, he will be begging to climb in your lap… if he can fit!
