Story
Amelia Bedelia is a six-year-old, 35 pound, Miniature Poodle Sheep dog who loves being near her people. Amelia Bedelia is young and heart and is very spritely with plenty of energy for walks and playing fetch in the yard. Though Amelia Bedelia does love a good nap on any soft surface she can find, she often prefers sleeping on a special person's lap. Amelia Bedelia's is adaptable to new people, dogs, and environments, as well as settling into routines quickly. Amelia Bedelia is comfortable around other dogs, children, and men. As long as there is a hand to pet her, she will be happy. Amelia Bedelia is getting used to unlimited access to her food and about going down carpeted stairs, but loves being outside, walking with a leash, and exploring new spaces. Amelia Bedelia is working on her house training but is getting better. Some of Amelia Bedelia's favorite things are following her people, running and playing with dogs, and enjoying treats of all kinds. And petting is definitely her love language and physical touch. If you’re looking for a confident, adaptable, and loving companion who is gentle, playful, and social, Amelia Bedelia could be your perfect match. Amelia Bedelia is located in Cincinnati, OH and her adoption fee is $450. Amelia Bedelia is a Patron Pup. Story
Meet Daphne! Daphne is a 6.5 year-old, 80lb Old English Sheep Dog. Daphne is the kind of dog that makes you believe in magic. A former breeding mom from an Amish puppy mill, she spent years giving life to others — and now it's finally her turn to simply be loved. And love, it turns out, is exactly what Daphne does best. She is the embodiment of cozy. If there were a dog whose entire personality could be summed up as a warm blanket on a rainy day, it would be Daphne. She wants nothing more than to be close to her people, soak up every pet offered, and exist in soft, comfortable contentment. Spend five minutes with her and you'll wonder how the world ever got along without her in it. The Good Stuff Daphne is a gentle, loving soul who warms up quickly once she's had a moment to assess a new situation — a totally reasonable ask from a girl who's been through a lot. She plays happily alongside her foster siblings, including a whole herd of boundary-free Mini Aussies and one tiny Pomeranian of doom, and she takes it all in stride. She has a delightful little habit of stealing socks, gloves, and anything soft and fluffy — not to destroy them, but to fluff them, like she's making the world's coziest nest. She loves toys, is discovering the joy of hard chew bones, and goes absolutely wild for a collagen treat. A Few Things to Know Like many dogs with her background, Daphne carries some puppy mill mom wariness with her. Loud noises can startle her — likely made more sensitive by partial hearing loss from untreated ear infections before she came into rescue — so a calm, patient household will help her thrive. She just needs a moment to take things in before saying hello; once she does, she's all yours. Leashes are still a new concept she's getting used to, but she loves following her people and makes it work. Daphne can be a little food-possessive around other dogs at mealtimes, so she'd do best in a home where feeding is managed separately. She's a great candidate for a multi-dog home otherwise — just one where her boundaries are respected. Her Grooming Needs That gorgeous Old English Sheepdog coat comes with responsibility! Daphne will need regular professional grooming to keep her comfortable and mat-free. Because her tail was docked, she'll also need frequent sanitary trims and regular clean-ups with dog-safe wipes to keep her back end tidy and healthy. Daphne isn't looking for adventure or excitement. She's looking for her person — or her people — to spend her days being adored by. If you're ready to give a former mill mom the retirement she deserves, Daphne is ready to be the best decision you ever made. Daphne is fostered in the Cincinnati area. Her adoption fee is $450.00.
