Story
Seamus is a big boy at over 80 lbs, but he is just one big old hunk of love. He is a very smart guy too and, after apparently having been dumped on a country road, set out and found himself some very nice humans who took him in out of the cold and made sure he was ok. He is very grateful and shows that with lots of love and kisses. His big hope is that he will soon be in a furever home where he can stay for the rest of his life! Can it be yours?

Story
Meet Skippy – the Dog-Lover’s Dog If dogs could hand out friendship bracelets, Skippy would be covered in them. This boy lives for his four-legged friends! A true social butterfly, Skippy thrives in playgroups at OHAR and is happiest when he's surrounded by canine companions. Whether it’s a game of chase, a sniff session, or just lounging in the sun with a buddy, Skippy is all in.But when it comes to humans… Skippy’s heart is a little guarded. You see, Skippy has been let down more times than we can count. His journey began at the Mesquite Animal Shelter way back in 2017. OHAR stepped in to give him a chance, but his first foster placement wasn’t the right fit. Thankfully, an experienced foster took him in and gave him the time, structure, and love he needed to blossom into the amazing pup he truly is.He found what we hoped would be his forever home in 2020, but sadly, Skippy has found himself back with us—returned because his adopters couldn't provide the guidance he still needs. The one human who has ever made Skippy feel safe was his foster mama. She saw his heart, his potential, and never gave up on him.And we won’t either.Skippy deserves more than just another stop on his journey—he deserves his person. Someone patient, experienced, and kind. Someone who understands that trust is earned, not expected. Someone who will let Skippy shine in his own time.Could that someone be you?Let’s show Skippy that forever really does exist.

Story
Hi! I'm Shenzi! I am a 1-year-old, female, Pointer mix weighing 51 Lbs (as of 04/23/25). She was found at Donut Palace on 04/19/2025 and never reclaimed. So now I am looking for a new family to love. I am shy due to the shelter environment and that fact that I do not understand why my family never came for me. Even though I was never reclaimed, I have not let that change my sweet and loving nature. I would love to join a family pack that has time to love and adore me as well as one that has patience while I acclimate to a new home and family. My adoption fee is $125. I am spayed, microchipped, and current on my rabies vaccination and basic boosters. I did test positive for heartworms but thanks to Rockwall PAWS, I will be able to start treatment at little to no cost to my new family. If you have any questions about heartworm disease or my course of treatment, RAC staff is happy to answer any questions. If you are interested in adopting me, please complete an online adoption application at https://rockwalladoptions.com/adoptfoster/adoption-application/. RAC staff will be in touch with next steps.  All animals, unless otherwise noted in their description, are at 1825 Airport Rd. in Rockwall, TX. Hours of operation are Monday-Friday 9 am to 6 pm and Saturdays 9 am to 5 pm. For questions, please call 972-771-7750 ext. 2 or email info@RockwallAdoptions.com. IMPORTANT NOTICE: All shelter animals are required by Texas state law to be spayed/neutered. RAC completes this procedure at the age of 12 weeks. If you are adopting a pet under the age of 12 weeks or an animal that has not yet been spayed or neutered, you will be required to return the pet to our facility on the agreed upon date set at the time of adoption. This policy is non-negotiable and violation of this health code is a criminal offense. April 25, 2025, 5:42 pm

Story
Hello, my name is Scooby and I am living at this lovely rescue at the moment where I’m patiently waiting for my own special human. I’m fond of walking on a leash and playing in the yard. I was living for a while with a couple who took me in from the streets, but they had to move and could not take me. I’m thankful I have a place to stay for now, but I’d really like to get into my own home with my own pack. Look deep into my soulful amber eyes and consider bringing me into the family. I will be your most loyal companion. I walk well on a leash, I can learn commands, I will follow you anywhere. I’m not a huge dog, a comfortable size, and I can adapt myself to your living situation. I get along well with my fellow canines and children. We can all play together every day! What could be better? I’m about 2 yrs old, HW negative, up to date on all my vaccinations, freshly neutered, so I will be ready to go when you arrive. Please hurry. If you would like to adopt this sweet furbaby, please complete our pre-qualification application at this link: https://bit.ly/2CCVFPV#AdoptDontShop #TBCAnimalRescue

Story
Revel came in with her sister who has been adopted. Revel is the prettiest and hopes to find her home soon, too! They were dumped near the lake. Thankfully we could help and save them from a life of hunger and despair. Revel just needs a chance to prove she is a good girl. She is calm and sweet and gets along with other dogs. She will make a great new best friend for a child or adult and a great family pet.If you would like to adopt this sweet furbaby, please complete our pre-qualification application at this link: https://bit.ly/2CCVFPV#AdoptDontShop #TBCAnimalRescue

Story
Petey walked onto a property in the country one day and let everybody know that he was not just visiting, but really intended to stay. This would have been perfectly fine with the human residents, but they want Petey to have the best possible life and felt this high energy young man needed to have someone younger than they are. GSP's are wonderful dogs who are very lovable and loving and are very trainable. They do have a high energy level and usually a strong prey drive. Training is definitely a must. They will reward you with unconditional love and loyalty.
