Story
Dorothy, is the perfect blend of calm cuddles and happy wiggles! She is a relaxed, affectionate girl who loves cozy beds, soft blankets, and spending time snuggled up with her people and her foster brother. While she’s generally very chill, Dorothy has the cutest moments of excitement—when she’s happy, she spins and sneezes, which is sure to make you smile. Dorothy sleeps peacefully in her kennel overnight and while her foster is away at work, as long as she’s had a chance to go potty beforehand & her bed is in the kennel. She settles quickly, enjoys relaxing at home, and loves her toys. She walks well on a leash, enjoys wearing her harness, and is perfectly happy sporting sweaters and outfits. She warms up to new people with calm introductions, positive reinforcement, and treats. Dorothy is dog-friendly, enjoys cuddling with her foster brother, and does not mind cats. Training: Dorothy knows “sit” and “paw” and is currently working on “lay down” and “off.” If you are interested in adopting please email Barcfoster@houstontx.gov today!

Introducing Gatsby! We don’t know how long sweet has been living on the streets, but we are so g lad he is finally safe with us. Gatsby is such a calm, gentle soul who we know will come out of his shell soon. We got him all caught up on his vaccines, medicated shampoo for his skin, and started on heartworm prevention. He’s currently with our amazing boarding partners, but we would love for this sweet boy to be in a foster or forever home. He’s incredibly trusting despite never knowing the love of humans. The vets estimated Gatsby to be around 5-6 years old. Scouts Honor provides all resources needed to foster — supplies, food, medication, vet visits etc. please consider opening your home for the holidays for Gatsby! We know he would be so appreciative. Visit www.scoutshonor.org for more information about Gatsby! November 29, 2025, 11:55 pm

Story
My boyfriend and I have been fostering this sweet pup named Nina for about 3 months. She was an owner surrender and rescued from a local pound a few hours prior to euthanasia so doing our best to give her the best chance at finding her forever family! About Nina🐶: she is a goofy, snuggly, happy, smart pup! Approx 1 yr old 45lb spayed female, up to date on all shots, heart worm negative and on flea/tick/heart worm prevention Training: potty trained and crate trained, has had 6 professional training sessions (she knows sit, down, roll over and almost has come, heel, crate, spin, off, “no outside”) Activity level: medium to high. Needs at least 1x walk/day for 30 mins and mental stimulation (ie lick it matts, puzzles). She can run ~1.5 miles straight and could probably work up to more as well! Would be best in a household w/o cats, kids 12+. She has been living with us and our senior dog; so far I think she would do well with another non-dominant dog or be great as an only dog.

Story
Meet Duck, a young, energetic dog who brings joy to everyone around him. He`s friendly, playful, and always ready for a cuddle or a new adventure. He weighs 30 pounds and likes running, tugging, toys, walks, chase, wrestling, and water. He knows the sit and no commands. Despite his boisterous and intense personality, Duck is incredibly sweet and lovable. He`s curious about the world, which makes him a bit excitable, but he`s also protective and affectionate. Duck is in need of some training (leash walking and house training), but with his eagerness to please, he`ll quickly become the perfect companion. He`s the epitome of a social butterfly, always eager for companionship and playful interactions. Duck enjoys frolicking with familiar canine friends but can be a bit shy around new dogs. Of course, being a loud chatterbox, he doesn`t hesitate to bark at unfamiliar dogs. He doesn`t like being alone and has no experience with children. In his original owner`s home, he was friendly and cautious around cats but had limited experience. He was given up because they didn`t have enough time for him and he didn`t get enough food so he may be possessive of his meals. He has gained eight pounds since coming to CAP. Duck`s boundless energy and loving nature make him the ideal addition to any home looking for a loyal friend. (tw 11/28/2025)FOSTER NOTES:Duck is taking a break at his foster home where he`s completing his housetraining and leash walking training, and also honing his quacking skills! He has been gaining weight nicely but can still add a few more pounds. He likes to eat his food fast but has no interest in other dog`s food. He is well-mannered and playful with the other dog. His foster is entertained by his curiosity, affection and love for the people as well as the other dog (Mojo Jojo, also available for adoption). His foster thinks that because Duck was likely living outside the house, he`s learning now how to live inside but he is a quick learner and doing well. So, patience is required from interested adopters to give him time to adjust to their household routine, and then he can be trusted with free roam of the house. He is easygoing and loves to be near his family. He is not a fan of being crated for long hours and would do well if he doesn`t have to be by himself much. Please contact his foster, Ram at CAPdogfoster@gmail.com or 281-202-9076 for more details. (RR, 12/14/2025)
