What a girl Miss Reba is! From the toughest of lives living and having babies in a junkyard, she holds no hard feelings; just grateful to be loved and knowing that food is abundant. This House Hippo is the most affectionate dog and loves to be very near you. She's weaned her babies but still stays close. She loves a pack walk as long as it's not too strenuous Reba would love to be an indoor/outdoor dog so that she can stay close to you when you're home.

Story
Meet Skippy – the Dog-Lover’s Dog If dogs could hand out friendship bracelets, Skippy would be covered in them. This boy lives for his four-legged friends! A true social butterfly, Skippy thrives in playgroups at OHAR and is happiest when he's surrounded by canine companions. Whether it’s a game of chase, a sniff session, or just lounging in the sun with a buddy, Skippy is all in.But when it comes to humans… Skippy’s heart is a little guarded. You see, Skippy has been let down more times than we can count. His journey began at the Mesquite Animal Shelter way back in 2017. OHAR stepped in to give him a chance, but his first foster placement wasn’t the right fit. Thankfully, an experienced foster took him in and gave him the time, structure, and love he needed to blossom into the amazing pup he truly is.He found what we hoped would be his forever home in 2020, but sadly, Skippy has found himself back with us—returned because his adopters couldn't provide the guidance he still needs. The one human who has ever made Skippy feel safe was his foster mama. She saw his heart, his potential, and never gave up on him.And we won’t either.Skippy deserves more than just another stop on his journey—he deserves his person. Someone patient, experienced, and kind. Someone who understands that trust is earned, not expected. Someone who will let Skippy shine in his own time.Could that someone be you?Let’s show Skippy that forever really does exist.

Story
Seamus is a big boy at over 80 lbs, but he is just one big old hunk of love. He is a very smart guy too and, after apparently having been dumped on a country road, set out and found himself some very nice humans who took him in out of the cold and made sure he was ok. He is very grateful and shows that with lots of love and kisses. His big hope is that he will soon be in a furever home where he can stay for the rest of his life! Can it be yours?

Story
Meet Demi, a charming 4-year-old Heeler mix who is eager to find her perfect forever home. Demi is a wonderful companion with a gentle spirit and a playful heart, and she is ready to share her love with the right family. Demi is dog-friendly with proper introductions and has a special knack for helping other dogs come out of their shells, showcasing her nurturing side. She is crate trained and enjoys the safety of her crate, especially during thunderstorms, where she finds comfort. Demi walks beautifully on a leash and loves to engage in games of chase, whether she's the one chasing or being chased. With a personality akin to an introvert, Demi thrives with structure and boundaries, which help her feel safe and build trust with her humans. She has a low to medium energy level, making her easy to be around, while her great pack drive allows her to form strong bonds with her family. Although she is friendly and listens well, she takes her time to warm up to strangers, which adds to her endearing nature. Demi is playful and has a sweet demeanor, always eager to partake in life's adventures. She loves the great outdoors, especially hiking and exploring new environments. Additionally, she is treadmill trained, providing an excellent outlet on extra hot or cold days. Demi would do best in a quieter home with older children who can respect her gentle nature and allow her the space to thrive. If you're looking for a loving, playful companion who brings joy and stability, Demi could be the perfect addition to your family!

Story
Meet Cora!Cora is a petite, playful sweetheart who looks like a little Bambi and has the energy to match! At five years old, she’s got just the right mix of spunk and sweetness—don’t let her age fool you, because she can hang with the best of them! She even plays with puppies, proving she’s young at heart and always up for some fun.Cora tolerates her crate (begrudgingly), but she’d much rather be out and about, spending time with her favorite people and dog pals. She has started heartworm treatment, which she is tolerating very well. Soon, she’ll be good as new and ready to take on life’s next adventure. Cora is up to date on all her vaccines and has been spayed. If you’re looking for a fun, affectionate, and resilient little companion, Cora is your girl! She`ll just need some extra TLC while she completes her heartworm treatment. To set up a meet and greet or inquire about a dog, please first fill out an application at https://savinghoperescue.org/adopt. It doesn`t obligate you, but it is the first step. We don`t get to all of the inquires but respond to all applications. Thank you for choosing to rescue!
