Story
Princess was surrendered to a rescue when her owner could no longer care for her. She was living in a bad situation and kept in a crate most of the time. Before this, she was raised with her owner and had exposure to grandchildren and some family, but Princess was not socialized outside of the home. She came to the rescue very frightened of everything and everyone. She slowly came out of her shell and learned that no one was going to hurt her - now she is happy, playful and full of personality with everyone she knows. She is still fearful of strangers, but with patience and time we know she will very quickly learn to trust a new person and become a wonderful family dog for someone very lucky.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. ***COURTESY LISTING*** Lucy is a 7month old Hound/Pointer mix that is approximately 40 lbs. We don't expect her to be more than 60lbs full grown. She is playful, loves going for walks, loving and affectionate. She does tolerate cats, but would be best to not live with any. She does well with other dogs. She loves people, however needs a home with no children or with children that are 10 or older as she has so much energy and is too much for young children. When meeting new people she does get very excited and can get jumpy. Would do best with an active family and one that has a fenced yard. Located in Mechanicsburg PA. Lucy is up to date on her vaccines and preventatives and is scheduled to be spayed in May 2025. If interested in adopting fill out an application on our website. https://homewardbound2u.rescuegroups.org If you have an approved application with the rescue please email her current family at stephrohrbaugh@gmail.com Please let her know a little about your family, day to day activities and when you would like to schedule to meet Lucy. Story
Rocky has been a long stay in boarding while we got this little chowder head to focus. Apparently his live had started with best guess, young boys, because his exuberance was over the top. We have finally gotten him under control. Other dogs still correct him at times because he just can't get that meet & greet scenario down pat, again exuberance. He is a very loving dog and would love the opportunity to live with someone who loves the outdoors and hiking. Sorry no apartments for this boy.

Story
PLEASE NOTE! Unless stated otherwise, our dogs and puppies are located in Arkansas, and transported to the north/northeast once adopted. We do occasionally have dogs/puppies placed in foster homes in the north/northeast. In the cases where the pet is somewhere other than Arkansas, it will be noted beside the name of the pet.Update 2/15/25 Petey is currently enrolled in the Paws in Prison program. He started there on 2/10 and will be there for 8 weeks. During that time he will be with an inmate trainer who will work on the basics with him (basic obedience, leash walking, house training, etc.). They meet weekly with a dog trainer. When Petey graduates, he will have his Canine Good Citizen Certificate. We hope he has a home waiting for him when he graduates in April. 1/29/25 Meet Petey! This lovable boy will melt your heart with his sweet soul and affectionate nature. At just 6-8 months old, Petey is a playful and active pup who enjoys plenty of fun before settling down for cozy snuggles. He's making great progress with basic manners like not jumping, sitting, and walking nicely on a leash. Petey is kennel-trained, fully house-trained, and always ready to please. We do not know his breed. This website makes us pick a breed.  When his pictures were put in an app, it said Mountain Cur/Pointer mix. He is likely a mix of several breeds. He gets along wonderfully with other dogs and adores everyone he meets. Petey is vaccinated, microchipped, neutered, and heartworm negative—ready to bring joy and love to his forever home!Located in Arkansas, but transport is available.
