While not all are in the immediate area, once we have processed and approved your application, we will move the dog to our adoptive area for you to meet, greet and hopefully adopt. Sometimes we will have more than one application on a dog. That does not mean it automatically goes to another family but you should be aware of the fact that until you are approved and set up for the meet/greet.. the dog could get adopted by another applicant.NOTE- YAVIS IS LISTED AS A COURTESY FOR AN INDIVIDUAL ASKING TO REHOME THEIR DOG.  PLEASE SEE CONTACT INFO BELOW.From his caretaker: 'His name is Yavis. He is about 4 or 5 years old. An English Pointer Hound we think. Very affectionate and smart, loves to cuddle. Has some separation anxiety. He is good with kids, very tolerant of them. Cats he is good with once you go through the introduction process, he got on well enough with our elderly cat. He has some food and toys protectiveness, particularly with other animals. I would recommend a fenced-in yard since he is used to one. Story
Rocky has been a long stay in boarding while we got this little chowder head to focus. Apparently his live had started with best guess, young boys, because his exuberance was over the top. We have finally gotten him under control. Other dogs still correct him at times because he just can't get that meet & greet scenario down pat, again exuberance. He is a very loving dog and would love the opportunity to live with someone who loves the outdoors and hiking. Sorry no apartments for this boy.

Story
Princess was surrendered to a rescue when her owner could no longer care for her. She was living in a bad situation and kept in a crate most of the time. Before this, she was raised with her owner and had exposure to grandchildren and some family, but Princess was not socialized outside of the home. She came to the rescue very frightened of everything and everyone, she was almost feral (wild) in her behaviors. She slowly came out of her shell and learned that noone was going to hurt her - now she is happy, playful and full of personality with everyone she knows. She is still fearful of strangers, but with patience and time we know she will very quickly learn to trust a new person and become a wonderful family dog for someone very lucky.

Story
Charlie just turned 8 on November 1st. He isn't gun shy. He gets along with Female Dogs more than other male dogs. Never been crated and he’s house trained up to 12 hours. He will come with food and treats that he is currently eating. He loves being outside but loves sleeping inside. He loves to put a front arm on each of your shoulders and give you a hug and lick your ears. Hell of a guard dog when it comes to letting you know if there is a person or another animal on your property. He’s not getting along with our original dog, this is the reason why we are getting him a new home. He’s not a bad dog and he loves children. He’s been with us since he was a puppy. He was a rescue straight from the abuser. He will bark at you until you pet him. Has never bit anyone nor snipped at anyone. Adoption fee will be waved if your a good match for him!

Fiona-Pointer X female, ~ 3-4yr. (July 2024) Contact rescuebc@hotmail.com for an application. Fiona came to Rescue from a high kill big city shelter. She was on the list to lose her life to euthanasia that very day. This was happening only because the shelter is way overwhelmed with dogs needing homes. Fiona went into a rescue foster home and has proved to be an excellent dog. She's about 35-40#, full of intelligence and life. She plays well with the other foster dogs, is very social. Best of all, she loves people and wants to interact with his humans. She would be an excellent hiking or walking partner. Fiona's adoption fee is $350 to help cover the medical costs of getting ready for adoption . When I was born, I assure you I didn't want to grow up to be left in a high kill shelter, however, that is what happened to me. LUCKILY, the fates (and some awesome rescue folks) aligned and saved me from certain death and brought me to a safe place where I can find a REAL family and a REAL home. Let me tell you about myself, I am cute, happy, loving, nervous at times, but have the long legs of a pointer! I have lots of energy for running, jumping and playing and I have the handsome chiseled jaw that most actors would love to have! Now if you need a great looking chap, look my way!!! ADOPT...........DON'T SHOP!!! My LIFE depends on it!!! LOcal adoption fee is $200 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $400 (includes transport to your area)
