Story
Meet Juggles! This sweet 8-year-old, 57-pound gentleman is ready to find a home where he can be the center of attention. Juggles came to the shelter after his previous owner realized they no longer had the time to give him the love and care he deserves. Despite that, he’s remained a good-natured, easygoing companion. Juggles has lived peacefully with cats and has done well in a home with older kids. He would thrive in a home where he can enjoy more quality time with his people—whether that’s lounging nearby, going for a stroll, or just soaking up some attention. He’s been missing that connection in recent years and is eager to be someone’s best friend again. If you’re looking for a loyal, mellow buddy who’s ready to fill your days with gentle companionship, Juggles might just be your perfect match!

Story
If you are looking for the total package, Leo checks all the boxes. This handsome boy was starving for love and companionship just living his days outside in the elements of NE Texas. Sometimes he was fed, sometimes he wasn't. But neighbors finally had enough. After months of making sure Leo and another pup were being kept alive by throwing food over the fence, they took matters into their own hands and asked the owner if they could take both pups off their hands. They readily agreed as they could no longer provide basic care for them. Leo is a well rounded guy who has been BEGGING for love and attention for so long. He is just so grateful for having a shelter over his head, good food and love. He is neutered and is getting up to date on all of his vetting too. He is a perfect angel with other dogs and little kids and has stolen the hearts of our rescue team. Now all he needs is a new family to call his own. He is house trained and leash trained!

Adoption Fee: $470, plus tax Location: Board and Train Facility Meet Ruger! This sweet two-year-old boy made his way from Texas and is now searching for his forever home. Ruger is the ultimate couch companion—he loves lounging with his favorite toys, often bringing them up onto the couch to chew on while fully embracing his inner couch potato! Ruger gets along with other dogs and enjoys playtime with friends. He’s fully potty trained and is making great progress with kennel training. Overall, he’s a loving, affectionate pup with a heart of gold! Right now, Ruger is enrolled in a 4-6 week board and train program to help him learn that he is safe. Ruger’s trainer says he is just such a sweet and goofy guy! With a solid daily routine of exercise, enrichment, and structured training, Ruger is learning to settle both in the kennel and in the home. He’s working on leash skills, thresholds, place work, and basic obedience, and has been doing great with other dogs of all sizes. Ruger plays like a typical adolescent pup and takes redirection well. He’s learning how to relax and self-regulate and continues to impress his trainer with his progress and lovable personality. Ruger is spayed/neutered, up to date on necessary, age-appropriate vaccines, 4DX negative, dewormed and microchipped. If you’re interested in meeting Ruger, please fill out an adoption application on the Carver Scott Humane Society website today!

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. //   Find our applications at www.midwestanimalrescue.orgAdoption Fee $400 plus taxAlfie, as his foster calls him, is kinda shy and submissive at first but once he warms up he will be your best friend! He wants to be right with his family at all times and loves getting attention and reassurance that he's a good boy. He also loves to snuggle with whomever he thinks might give him a few pets. Petting another dog? “No problem,” says Alf. “I’ll just wedge in here between the two of you and steal a few for myself.” Alf was a little unsure of his canine counterparts in his foster home at first, but quickly transformed into the total goofball that he truly is. He loves to play with the other dogs, but is respectful of those who tell him “No thanks.”  He might do well in a home with a confident resident dog to show him the ropes.  If he's an only dog, working on training to build his confidence will be important.   He has an average energy level and sometimes will carry toys around in his mouth proudly showing them off.  On occasion, he will get so excited that he will talk by woo woo wooing at you! He doesn’t love going into his crate yet, but once he’s in with a treat or for meals, he does well.  He is crated when his foster owners are away since he sometimes finds things to chew on. He does love chewy bones and toys of all kinds so just needs to learn what's a toy and what's not.   Overall, Alf is a joyful dog who just wants to be part of whatever it is you might be doing. A perfect companion for walks, car rides, household chores, or lounging on the couch.    Watch this cute video of Alf: https://www.youtube.com/shorts/lWLodFsU-i8 If you have previously applied with us please email adoptionatmars@gmail.com to reactivate your application with new interest. All fees are subject to MN sales tax and a processing fee at the time of adoption. Our Adoption fees for all animals cover required vetting: which includes, Rabies, Distemper Vaccine Series, Bordetella, Deworming, Heartworm Test as age appropriate, Spay or Neuter and Microchip and registration. Adoption Fees are Non Negotialble. All fees are subject to MN sales tax and a processing fee at the time of adoption. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.  or    *The pet you are viewing is a rescued pet which is most often from an animal control facility and does not come with a pedigree. The breed(s) listed are our best guess and are in no way guaranteed. Sometimes the pets appear to be a particular breed(s) in the pictures we receive from our rescue partners and when they arrive we are surprised to see an entirely different breed(s) in person!  If you choose to DNA test your adopted pet, test results may vary from company to company and our breed guess may not be reflected in those results as it is just that, our best guess. It is with deep longing that we wish there was a breed called 'cute' as we believe all of our dogs would fall under this new breed classification! Completion of an Adoption Application via our website www.midwestanimalrescue.org is the best way to show your interest in an animal and is the first step in our adoption process.  *Animals who are not fully vaccinated and altered are not eligible for long distance adoption. When you adopt a pet from Midwest Animal Rescue and Services, your adoption fee covers: Microchip and registration, Core Vaccines including Rabies, Distemper and bordetella, age appropriate heartworm testing or FeLV-FIV testing, sterilization, heartworm/flea-tick prevention and deworming while in foster care.  Adoption fees are non-negotiable and can be paid by cashier's check, money order or credit card. We do not accept personal checks. Any issues that arise after adoption are the full responsibility of the adopter after the finalization of adoption. Adoption fees are only part of the expense of owning a pet, so we ask you to consider the costs for the life of the pet before adoption. We recommend pet insurance. //

Story
Hello… Zella here. I’m an energetic nearly 2 year old pit mix. I’m a girl who likes slow introductions to my new home and canine siblings. I prefer dogs that are more submissive. I need an experienced owner who can read dog body language. I’m a happy girl who loves to explore, so I need a secure fence. I’m learning to regulate myself when I get overly stimulated, but would love your help with this. I’ve been good with people of all ages. I have used a harness or Gentle Leader when out walking. I had basic obedience training through Pawsabilities and did well. I’d love to do more training with you. If you’re interested in meeting me, please put an application in at campcompanion.org. My adoption fee is $350.

Story
AGE: Mature adult 10 years old - FemaleCHARACTERISTICS:good with dogs and older kids, mellow, very happyBREEDS: Good question! COAT LENGTH - mediumHi I am Sammy. They say I am a 10 year old dog but I don't believe them. I think I might only be 8 or maybe even 6 as I still have some good energy! I enjoy playing in the yard with my husky fursister. We play and play and play. I do like to be the alpha her but she is a husky and can outrun me!! My foster mom has a doggy door which is really nice as I can go outside any time I need to potty. See I was an outside dog all my life and I'm not catching on to not pottying wherever I want so I might have an accident in the house as I don't know any better. We are working on it but having a doggy door helps me as I can just run outside quick and take care of business. I enjoy hanging out wherever you are, by your feet while you watch TV, by your feet in the bathroom, under your feet while you cook, I will be there wherever you may go. My foster mom calls me her shadow. And watch out for my tail as it never stops wagging. I am always very happy to see people and will come right up to you to get lots of pets, I may even lay down and let you rub my belly!! Do you have another dog? I would really love to have another dog in the house. It helps keep me calm if you leave. I don't like to be alone. When you leave you can put me in my kennel and I will be very quiet as long as the other dog is there with me. I might be a candidate for just hanging out without a kennel, but not free roaming of the house......yet.So here is my list of requests - another dog to hang with and play with, a doggy door with a fenced in yard, somebody to pet me and rub my belly, and pet me and rub my belly some more. FROM THE FOSTER: Don't worry about dusting those low shelves, Sammy's tail will dust it for you as her tail never stops wagging. Also don't leave any food towards the front of the counters, it will disappear! I would definitely recommend a doggy door so she can go outside whenever she needs, This has almost eliminated accidents in the house. I have taken her to work and we had to take her outside alot or we had accidents. She loved everybody she met at the office and would right up to them to get petted.Oh and you ask what breed is Sammy? Well lets see, she has a beard so that could be German Wirehaired Pointer, or Airedale, or Schnauzer, or Bearded Collie, or Griffon. But her body has traits of a great dane, she has large paws, but she's not really tall, her coat is medium length and she does shed. SInce we are unsure of her breed, I call her a hotdish -- just an assortment of joy and love!!Good girl. Always lived as an outside dog. We are looking for a caring home for her. She's affectionate, likes people, lived with smaller children. Does not like catsWas an owner surrender.Adoption fee $250 plus tax____Please Note: We ask that an application be filled out before coming to the shelter.
