Story
What a poser! Abner is estimated to be about 3 years old and weighs 41 pounds. Here are a few nice facts about him: Has the best name ever Goofy Fun-spirited Silly playful Bouncy Very good at entertaining himself, just loves toys Easily relinquishes his toys A connecting boy Needs a basic obedience refresher An active home with room to run would be perfect Knows sit and shake Needs a home where any children are at least 8 years old, has a bit of a rougher play style and a little mouthy Wishes for a family to love him If there is another nice doggy sibling in the home, Abner would love to meet them. He has a soft, immediate “all in” bouncy play style, but it may be too much for some dogs If you are interested in Abner and are at least 21 years old, please come to our kennel during business hours, make an appointment, or fill out an application at k9stray.com and an adoption counselor will be in touch. We look forward to helping you find your new best friend! *Please check your lease agreements for breed/weight restrictions prior to applying. We also do not do cat testing, so we do not know how a dog will do with cats. Not all dogs are available to go home on the same day you first meet.*

Story
Meet Frosty! This one-year-old fun-loving pointer mix is 47-pounds of pouncing perfection! Frosty is a light-hearted fellow who may come off shy at first, but soon enough he's eager to be by your side. He has quickly become friends with several of the pups at the kennel and has fantastic playstyle! He's also very food-motivated so if you have the treats, he has the time! Some of our volunteers took Frosty for an outing and he had a blast! They went on a two-mile hike followed by a trip to Tractor Supply. He did very well encountering other people and pups! Frosty does well in the car too! They finished their adventure with a delicious ice cream before heading back to the kennel. As Frosty is still a young man, he will benefit from additional training as he grows. He is a very capable boy and we know he'll make you proud! He will thrive in a home where he can receive daily exercise and have a nice yard to enjoy. Based on our evaluation, we think Frosty would do best in an active home with adults or families with kids eight and up. We feel he has the capacity to live with another dog and would love to have a playful sibling! We are happy to do a meet and greet with your family fur baby! If you think Frosty sounds like your kind of pup, head to greatlakesdogrescue.com today and submit your application for this pointer prince!

Meet Chipster! This two-year-old pointer/cattle dog mix is ready to wiggle his way into your heart! He's 50 pounds of puptastic perfection! Chipster is a social pup who is always up for meeting new friends-both furry and human alike! He loves to engage with volunteers and has a blast playing with other pups at the kennel! When it comes to the snow, Chipster always looks forward to his time in the yard and would love a nice yard of his own to enjoy in his new home. This enthusiastic boy has yet to come across a toy he doesn't like and will keep you smiling day after day. He also knows how to sit and takes his treats gently. Chipster is happy to be near you and we know that family that adopts him will have years of good times with this spectacular boy! Based on our assessment, we feel Chipster would do well in an active home with adults of families with kids ages five and up.
