If you are interested in adopting this dog, please fill out an Adoption Questionnaire at  https://petstablished.com/adoption_form/43315/genericYou can learn about the adoption process by visiting:  http://www.k-9lifesavers.org/howtoadopt/.  Dog's Name:  Pup Spyro (SPY1024ALAFD)Estimated Breed:  Pointer mix Approximate Age:  6 months  Approximate Weight:  29 LBS Currently Living at:  Foster   Adoption Fee:  $500DOG'S DESCRIPTION: Meet Pup Spyro. She came to us from an overcrowded high kill shelter when she was just a small puppy and has been with a foster several months. She is house broken, loves other dogs, cats, kids and grownups! She is so sweet and lovable and would make the perfect family dog. Will you give her a chance? Your new pet will require a refresher in house-training. K-9 Lifesavers strongly recommends all new adopters enroll their new pet into obedience training. This provides for an easier transition into a new home, ensures the dog remains well socialized, and helps form a bond between the dog and the new family.           Adoption fees cover basic vetting, spay/neuter surgery (at partner vet if not fixed before adoption), rabies, distemper/parvo vaccinations, treatment for worms, heartworm testing, monthly heartworm prevention and monthly flea/tick prevention (while the animal is in our care), and transport costs from high-kill shelter. Please note that on average, K-9 Lifesavers spend significantly more on each dog than their adoption fee. Adoption fee for HW positive dog also covers heartworm treatment at our partner vets. Foster Program:    Foster homes provide for the temporary care of a rescue until the dog is placed into a loving, forever home.  For more information on becoming a foster parent, and our Foster Program, visit  http://www.k-9lifesavers.org/foster/  or email our Foster Coordinator at  foster@k-9lifesavers.orgSponsor Me!    Make a  tax-deductible donation  today by visiting us at http://www.k-9lifesavers.org/donate/  . Story
Harley is a very sweet girl, she loves giving hugs and she will love you and your kids very much. The reason we have to find a new home for her it’s because we are temporarily moving and the place we are moving to landlord is not allowing dogs. I just want to ensure she finds a good loving home. We got her from a shelter and she is 3 years old. She has been with us for 2 years.

Please contact Lowell Nelson (lowelln@luckydoganimalrescue.org) for more information about this pet.sweet mama ready for her own family! LUCY NEEDS A FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME!!!! Name:   Lucy        Best Guess for Breed:  Pointer and basset hound mix  Best Guess for Age:   3 years as of February 2025       Gender:  Female Approximate Weight:   44 lbs Gets Along With: Other dogs! We haven't seen her with kids or cats but she can be tested if you have them. Currently Living At: Lucky Dog's South Carolina rescue campus; needs a foster or forever home in the DC area to get up here after completing heartworm treatment     Special Adoption Considerations: Lucy is heartworm positive, but this Lucky Dog got extra lucky! This pup is part of a groundbreaking study we are conducting at our South Carolina Rescue Campus that has the potential to change the way shelters across the United States treat heartworm positive dogs.  All dogs in the study are placed at random in either the 2 shot or 3 shot protocol with strictly monitored protocols in place. Four weeks following their final injection, the pups are eligible to transport to the DC area for placement in foster or adoptive care.  After treatment concludes, we work with adopters to arrange a free follow up heartworm test after 6 months, followed by a second test at 9 months.  We are happy to discuss this treatment and which phase of the study this Lucky Dog is in right now! Just email the adoption coordinator - the address is at lower left!    Lucy is Looking For: Her forever home! Lucy did an amazing job of raising her babies Rand, Rek, Rookie, Rosie, Rucker, and Russ to be amazing family pets, and they're off to their own homes. Now Lucy wants to love and be loved by her own family To have her own humans to trot alongside on long sniffy walks and all the adventures they can dream up.  Lucy has so many adoring gazes and happy tail wags and all the loyalty in her heart to lavish upon her humans. What do you say? Is this stubby-legged sweetie the one you see by your side? What My Foster Says About Me: We will update this once she has arrived in the DC area and spent some time with her foster Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken.  All of our dogs are working on their crate training.  TO ADOPT: The adoption fee for this dog is $475, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations, spay/neuter, and heartworm treatment.  If you are interested in adopting, please complete the Adoption Questionnaire online at bit.ly/adoptaluckydog Lucky Dog Animal Rescue does our best to provide accurate information about the dogs we have for adoption. Please contact Caitlin Finn (caitlin.finn@luckydoganimalrescue.org) for more information about this pet.young boy ready to play! KENTUCKY NEEDS A FOREVER HOME!!!!Name:  Kentucky       Best Guess for Breed:   Pointer and lab mix Best Guess for Age:  3 years 6 mos as of February 2024   Gender:    Male Approximate Weight:    51 lbs Gets Along With: Other dogs! We haven't seen him with kids but he can be tested if you have them. Kentucky is a bit too interested in his feline friends so a home without cats is best. Currently Living At: DC area foster home Special Adoption Considerations: Kentucky is heartworm positive, but this Lucky Dog got extra lucky! Just email the adoption coordinator - the address is at lower left! Kentucky is Looking For: His forever family! He's got all that awesome young-dog energy and is eager to have his own humans for long sniffy walks, romps in the park, and exploring the world - he hasn't seen nearly enough of it. He'd love to make pup pals along the way, too. Quality kibble, cushy dog beds, peanut butter-filled Kongs - yes, please. But you know what he wants most of all? To know where he belongs, to know he's safe and loved for all his days. What do you say? Is he the one you see by your side? What My Foster Says About Me: Overall, Kentucky is a very sweet, loving and good boy. He is very high energy, playful, a little clumsy and a giant goofball but he loves affection and attention, loves being outside, and loves being near me. He is still getting used to walking on leash. He is very food motivated and loves to play with toys - he has gotten along great with another dog in the home.   Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken.
