So Arika is an unusual name, right?? Well, yes it is!! It actually means "ruler of ALL" and I identify with that feeling :D OK, I am not the ruler of all, but I am the ruler of ALL my friends! We have kind of a democratic system set up...... I tell them what to do and they LISTEN and they do what they want! So, that is the level of my "ruler-ness". However, I have a lot more to offer than just rules and regulations.... I HAVE LOVE! You see, I know love and I know despair...my daughter Mika and I were found on the streets, eating trash and anything we could get our faces on.... until the day that a "street feeder/rescuer" found us. From that day forward we had HOPE... And here we are in the rescue and thriving! I rule all my friends and we are now just waiting for our furever homes. I am a big girl, kind of deceivingly... I don't look that big but weigh in over 70# I am great with other dogs- big and small, as long as they want to play and hang out, I am down with that... Betty Boop is a playful, people-oriented dog. She loves her toys, loves to play fetch. She's always up for a romp in the yard with other dogs. She has a trim, leggy body and the sweetest little face. Betty Boop is an active lifestyle-type dog who needs daily exercise, whether it's running and playing in a physically-fenced yard, running or hiking with her person or trips to doggie daycare. Betty Boop is a whip smart girl who learns quickly and would probably excel at agility training. She is housebroken and crate trained. If you'd like to meet Betty Boop, please fill out a dog adoption application at dreamhouserescue.org. We are happy to arrange a private meet with an approved adopter. You can meet Betty Boop at our weekly adoption event, Saturday noon-2 at PetSmart Eastgate. All of our fully-vetted adoptable dogs go to prospective homes for a one-week trial period to make sure the dog and home are the right fit before an adoption is finalized. Meet Trenton! This good boy is the whole package! He is a mixed breed, best guess English pointer/boxer mix, and no one breed is evident. He is 2-year-old medium sized (55 pound) love bug who is gentle and adores kids. He is house trained. It does not appear he has been taught basic commands, but he should be a quick learner as he learned the doggy door ropes in a single day. The crate is not his favorite. He will go in when bribed with delicious treats and sleep quietly through the night. He mimics the vibe of the house by playing when we are active and snuggling on couch when we are quiet. He also gets along with other dogs, playing or backing off at the appropriate times. As he has settled into his foster home, he has started wrestling with the alpha dog of the house. Trenton deserves someone who will shower him with attention, car rides and rounds of fetch. He is everyone’s best friend, can he be yours? Trenton is neutered and up to date on all vaccines, flea and heartworm medication.
