Vaughn is our longest term pup -  an introverted extrovert that came to us almost three years ago in VERY rough shape.  When he arrived he was skin and bones and terrified of the world.  He would guard his food from other dogs and wouldn't let strangers approach him.  With a lot of patience and work - this boy has made a complete turnaround!   Vaughn is still a little shy with strangers, but after a quick sniff and a treat he's your best friend.  In the home, this 70 pound pup thinks he's a lap dog and is always trying to curl up next to you.  He currently lives with multiple small dogs and is doing very well - but will definitely chase a cat if given the opportunity (that's the hound in him).   He loves to play with other dogs...  but prefers calmer personalities that won't try to bully him.  Vaughn is sweet and playful with the reserved disposition that middle age brings.  A pup that LOVES his walks, but only half as much as he loves his naps.   He's got a smidge of cattle dog in him as well and tends to be a bit mouthier and will herd his friends when he plays so an adult only home or a home with kids over 12 would be ideal.   If you think our little wallflower sounds like the dog for you, please contact his trainer (Kseniya) today at 847.338.3252 or info@redemptionroadinc.org  to schedule your private meet and greet. Adoption Donation: $500 My litter includes: Bailey, Charlie, Jamie, Jordan, and Morgan All dogs are microchipped, neutered, current on all vaccines, heartworm tested (if age appropriate), and up-to-date on preventatives at the time of adoption. An application is required to view our adoptable pets. All household members and any dogs from the household need to be present to be able to adopt. A photo ID will be required at the time of adoption. Appointments are HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. All applications are considered general. Specific animals are NOT put on hold for adoption. When you visit, our adoption counselors will be able to make suggestions based on the type of pet you are looking for and help you find the best fit for your family. She greets those she loves with kisses and dancing feet every time they come home. This cozy pup spends much of the day lounging but her favorite thing is cuddling with her people. A close second favorite activity is going for a long walk. Izzy Blu loves being outside where she can show off her leash skills and get compliments from the neighbors on what a pretty dog she is! Izzy Blu has some vision impairment which doesn’t slow her down. She would benefit from a fenced yard so she can safely be active, especially at night. Izzy Blu is kid friendly and likes dogs, but needs a slow intro/a resident dog who can give her time to be comfortable in a new environment. This sweet pup is gentle with everyone in her family, so smart and learns things easily.
