Gentle and smart, Brinkley is always eager to learn new tricks, proving that you can indeed teach an old dog new tricks. She already knows the sit, stay, come, no, and down commands and is house trained. Her playful spirit shines when she`s around children, making her a great family pet. With them she is submissive, easygoing, friendly, and gentle. She`s also quite the cuddle bug, always ready for a good snuggle after plopping her 50-pound body onto a lap for petting. However, Brinkley needs to be the only dog in the house, as she can be a possessive of her toys and doesn`t behave well when seeing dogs out in public. No cats either. She`s a great guard dog, ready to keep her home safe and peaceful. She was given up after many years because her family moved to a place where she wasn`t allowed to live. Despite her quirks, lovable Brinkley`s gentle, calm loving nature and playful spirit make her the perfect companion for a family ready to give her the love and attention she deserves. Hi Josh!!! This brindle boy is a Plott Hound mix we guess. He’s about 50 pounds and about a year old. He’s completely vetted, heartworm negative and ready for some permanent digs that will surely be an upgrade from where he came from. Josh was found abandoned, tied to a pole with two other adult dogs and three puppies without shelter, food or water. It is typically impossible to find someone willing to take on a pack of abandoned dogs in one day, but that is exactly what his foster did. Without his foster moms, these dogs stood a zero chance at a life. Josh adores his foster pack, is crate trained, doing well with house training and would make a fabulous running partener. Introducing Claire (fka St. Clair)!! Cliare is a BEAUTIFUL brindle labbie mix. Sweet Claire was rescued from the same cruelty situation as her brother, Frank, abandoned outside after their owners moved away. Unfortunately like so many other amazing dogs in Houston, Frank and Claire both found themselves on the euthanasia list due to time and space. Scouts Honor stepped in after first meeting Frank, knowing we could NOT leave his sister behind!! Claire is a little shy, but loves other dogs just like her brother Frank. They are not a bonded pair- so can go to separate homes! We think she’s around 4-5 years old and probably should be closer to 60lbs once she puts on some weight! She is very eager to please, loves treats, and would be the perfect companion in any home. We are excited to give this dog a second chance at life to know the love she truly deserves. How could you not fall for a smile this handsome? Russell is such a flirt – especially for treats! We’re not sure how people aren’t falling for him left and right! Russell is a 3YO Catahoula mix who came into the shelter as a stray with some other dogs on 11/3/23. He’s a very good boy who’s great at leash walking. He enjoys being let off leash to run around in the yard a little. He has an average energy level, so he doesn’t need a ton of exercise. Just a little keeps him happy! He keeps himself entertained, but he’ll also sit happily by your side for as long as you’ll pet him. The boy loves love! He also loves attenting in shelter playgroups and making new doggie friends. Russell has great focus when it comes to treats. Nothing will distract him from his snack! He already knows how to sit on command for one, and he’s sure to pick up more tricks with a little practice.¿Cómo no enamorarte de una sonrisa tan guapa?
