Story
Tessa is a very sweet but timid girl. She is very well behaved but will need an adopter with a gentle touch as she learns to trust and grow in her confidence. She gets along well with other dogs, but is fearful of barking or high energy dogs. She is cat curious and cautiously gentle with them. She is extremely food motivated, but not aggressive. She is house trained but does not like to be crated. She wants to be wherever you are but isn`t clingy. She loves toys and will play independently or have an occasional episode of zoomies. She knows basic commands and is always ready to shake a paw. Her apprehensive demeanor can be challenging, but doesn`t present any negative reactions. She would be a great addition to any family, but would probably do best in a quieter home. If you would like to meet Tessa please email barcfoster@houstontx.gov!

Story
Introducing Claire (fka St. Clair)!! Cliare is a BEAUTIFUL brindle labbie mix. Sweet Claire was rescued from the same cruelty situation as her brother, Frank, abandoned outside after their owners moved away. Unfortunately like so many other amazing dogs in Houston, Frank and Claire both found themselves on the euthanasia list due to time and space. Scouts Honor stepped in after first meeting Frank, knowing we could NOT leave his sister behind!! Claire is a little shy, but loves other dogs just like her brother Frank. They are not a bonded pair- so can go to separate homes! We think she’s around 4-5 years old and probably should be closer to 60lbs once she puts on some weight! She is very eager to please, loves treats, and would be the perfect companion in any home. We are excited to give this dog a second chance at life to know the love she truly deserves.  Claire would LOVE to be in a foster home! Scouts Honor covers all expenses associated with fostering so you can show Claire love she’s never experienced before! Story
**This dog is with Corridor Rescue in Houston, Texas** Agile and loving, sweet Elise found herself and her 6 puppies struggling daily on the streets. After finding refuge in an abandoned property, she and her semi-feral pups were brought into our program as quickly as possible. While the puppies have blossomed, no one has come quite as far as beautiful Elise! A touch reserved, this quiet gentle girl is quite the athlete - easily able to scale even the tallest fence on our property! Don't let that worry you though, she's quickly learned where 'home' is and wanderlust has left her. Based on her demeanor we feel she has spent time as a family pet before, and we'd be thrilled to see her where all dogs belong - in a family of her own! With her spay completed and her scheduled for heartworm treatment, young Elise has a vibrant life ahead of her and would love nothing more than to share it with you! *** Please apply to foster or adopt online at www.corridorrescue.org Direct inquiries to: adopt@corridorrescue.org The adoption fee of $225 covers spay/neuter, microchip and current vaccines. Transport is available and can be discussed on an individual basis. Thank you for considering a rescued former street dog for your next family member!

Story
Norman - Plott Hound/Heeler Mix - Male - 5 Yrs - www.twyla.org If you'd like to know more about this dog please visit our website at www.Twyla.org Meet Norman: this delightful little guy is about 30 lbs, a neutered male Plott Hound and blue Heeler mix, we think. Norman does not have a tail and was likely born without one. He LOVES to run and play, likes toys and gets along well with other dogs and cats and loves kids of all ages. Norman walks well on leash, rides well in the car and is crate and house trained.  Norman is looking for an active home that will take the time to exercise him regularly as he really likes to run. He is quite "slippery" near the front door and will take himself for a run if that door is not watched properly, especially with kids in the house. He would love a jogging partner, that will likely satisfy his desire to run and curb his interest for solo excursion. He can be an only dog if he gets enough attention and affection from his humans, he would likely enjoy the company of another dog in the house. ***Please note: All dogs are fostered in private homes of volunteers, so to meet a dog please fill out an Adoption Application on our website (http://www.twyla.org/adopt/our-adoption-process) so we may setup a private meetup with the dog or coordinate for an Introduction at the next general Adoption Meet and Greet (as listed on our website: (http://www.twyla.org/upcoming-events), as not all dogs attend all Meet and Greets***

Gracie - Plott Hound/GSD - Female - 1.5 Yrs - www.twyla.org If you'd like to know more about this dog please visit our website at www.Twyla.org Meet Gracie: This gorgeous girl has a unique brindle coat with soft tan undertones and the best ears in the area! We think she's a Plott hound mix, with some shepherd mixed in = Ears! Gracie was rescued off the streets and has never met a stranger - despite her history, she is very friendly with all people she meets. As we She LOVES playing with other dogs, is very gentle playing with the little ones and backs off appropriately when her selected play partner does not want to play. She has not been exposed to cats in her foster home, so we don't know how she is around them. Gracie is very smart and learns quickly, she is house and crate trained, walks pretty well on leash and rides fine in the car. She has shown no concern about thunderstorms or fireworks, and sleeps politely on her dog bed. She is an expert snuggler and would likely sleep in bed with her person, given the opportunity. Gracie is looking for a home with or without kids, preferably with another dog for her to play with and someone who is home more often than not, as she is not a fan of being alone.

Story
Hi Josh!!! This brindle boy is a Plott Hound mix we guess. He’s about 50 pounds and about a year old. He’s completely vetted, heartworm negative and ready for some permanent digs that will surely be an upgrade from where he came from. Josh was found abandoned, tied to a pole with two other adult dogs and three puppies without shelter, food or water. It is typically impossible to find someone willing to take on a pack of abandoned dogs in one day, but that is exactly what his foster did. Without his foster moms, these dogs stood a zero chance at a life. Josh adores his foster pack, is crate trained, doing well with house training and would make a fabulous running partener. While his foster home is great, their hands are full. Please consider Josh if you are planning to add a companion to your family. He’s a great dog?? Bigloverescue.org for an application

Story
HANDSOME AS A GREEK GOD Est. DOB 1/15/23, Weight 60 lbs. Hey there, everyone! I’m Zeus, a sweet, friendly, fun-loving, and affectionate chocolate-blonde Catahoula/ German Shepherd mix fella with mesmerizing ice-blue eyes. I have the blue eyes and coat colors of a Catahoula but the bushy, curved tail of a GSD. I must admit that I’m a striking head-turner who got my name because I command as much visual attention as the king of the Greek gods. But I’m not just eye candy! No siree! I’m a bundle of joy who’s added extra love and energy to Foster Mom’s life. Due to my congenial nature, I love making new friends, whether they’re hooman or other dogs. I’m always up for schmoozing at the dog park, a walk in the neighborhood, or playing a game of fetch. I heard Foster Mom tell someone that I’m the smartest dog she’s ever trained. Add my keen intelligence to my eagerness to please and quickness to learn, and it’s no wonder that I’ve been a delight for her to train. My brother, sister, and I were pets of a guy who unfortunately was evicted from his home and left us behind to fend for ourselves. When our situation was reported to our foster mom, thank heavens she rescued us from living paw-to-mouth on the mean streets of Houston and brought us home with her to foster. If you’re looking for a loyal, lovable, and playful pup to put a smile on your face and a zing to your adventures, I’m the guy for you. Arrange to meet me today. Once you look into my stunning baby blues and experience my charming personality, you won’t be able to resist taking me home with you. HOPE ID D23-0628-0024 If you are interested in Zeus and would like to fill out a Dog Adoption Application, please go to: http://www.homelesspets.net/adoption-forms/dog-adoption.php . Submitting an application does not obligate you to adopt from us but it initiates contact with us and gets the process started. If you have questions prior to filling out the application, email us at lisagilchrist16@gmail.com and a HOPE volunteer will get back to you.
