Story
Harper loves to be close! She is a one to two year-old plott hound/black mouth cur mix that weighs 63 pounds and arrived at the Mesquite Animal Shelter on 1/4 as a stray. She appeared to be timid in her kennel, but once she got out in the yard she came to life! .She was frisky and was attempting to entice me to play with her. She does fetch and retrieve balls. She sits for treats and takes them gently. She comes when you call her. She’s friendly, outgoing, active, and affectionate. She didn’t have a problem meeting other dogs. She walked OK on a leash. She would like to have a yard to stretch her legs in and to play in but would like to spend most of her time inside cuddling up with her new family.

Prince Charming is a nickname Bryson has earned due to hisenchanting personality.Bryson enjoys people, dogs, playtime and life in general! He is a happy-go-lucky fella, who is likes meeting new people while on walks. His goofy ears and consistent smile will make all your neighbors envious that you have such a lovable dog.Though Bryson is crate trained, heaven on earth would be to have a soft bed next to yours (or even sleep in bed with you) because he adores his people so much!Bryson would do well in a home with a yard, a warm bed and maybe even a canine friend. Could that home be with you?Adoption Process: After your application is approved, a home visit is schedule. We will bring the pet to you and help with introductions to your current pet(s). You will then have a week with the pet to ensure they are the right fit for your home. At the end of the week, you finalize the adoption and the pet is officially part of your family! Story
Gordon is still waiting… Two-year-old Gordon has known what it’s like to be overlooked. He’s watched as other dogs found their forever families while he’s been left behind—through no fault of his own. This gentle, loving Plott Hound mix has so much love to give, but his special needs make him easy to pass by. Gordon has epilepsy, and while it’s manageable with medication, he needs a family willing to see past his condition and love him for the amazing dog he is. Gordon is calm, sweet, and wonderful with other dogs and attends doggie daycare often. He dreams of a home where he can finally feel safe, snuggled up beside someone who won’t give up on him. He doesn’t ask for much—just love, stability, and a family who sees his heart, not just his challenges. He’s been waiting. Hoping. Wondering when it will be his turn. Could you be the one to show Gordon that he’s not forgotten? Contact [Rescue/Shelter Name] to meet Gordon. He’s ready to love you forever.     ##1760794##

Story
Lola was rescued from a local shelter and now her owner has to give her up to no fault of her own.  She is a gorgeous, sweet girl.  She is great with small dogs and seems a bit timid with large dogs but we think she would be fine in time as she gets to know them.  She is obedient and aims to please.  She is about 9 months old, Jan. 2024, and weighs 50 lbs. ##1623586##

Story
We got Violet from an acquaintance of a friend whose dogs had a litter of puppies. We drove up to Oklahoma to bring her home. Now 3 years old, we've raised her from a puppy to a young adult—she has tons of energy! She’d do best in a household that can give her plenty of space to run or provide the exercise she needs. For the past three years, she’s lived with two other dogs, but we recommend she be the only pet in her new home. She resource guards toys and has recently become protective of my pregnant wife. While she’s incredibly loyal, it’s best to keep her away from other dogs when toys are involved. Her adopter will receive her kennel, bed, toys, and blanket—everything needed to help her settle in comfortably.
