Story
Happy, playful Guppy is a sweet, sensitive, soul … 3 years old, loves to play fetch, go for rides, and walks. He gets his feelings hurt if he gets in trouble! He is a happy hound, so he can be a talker especially when gets excited. Guppy knows DOWN, SIT, OFF, LAY DOWN, SHAKE, BRING IT and is kennel trained. If you say QUIET TIME after play, he runs to his kennel for a little treat and some downtime. Gets along with his foster brother and does not bother the cats. Needs a fenced yard because, well, he is a hound and will go on adventures. He is a good boy on leash. He loves to curl up with his foster mama in a chair or the couch in the evenings to enjoy some snuggle and TV time! He loves to learn new things. Guppy would love to grow up with kids but would also do well with an active solo parent or couple. He is a fun sweetheart and you’ll never see a more joyful face when you come home from school or work. Adopt in Middle TN or FL Gulf Coast.

Story
Bell is a 9.5 year old 51 pound brindle girl! I adopted her in 2020 from an animal shelter in Atlanta. I got her the day they brought her in, and she has been with me since! Bell loves to be around humans and enjoys time with other dogs (she has lived with 2 other dogs) as long as they meet in an open area and have time to decompress. She is not okay with cats at all! She is up to date on all her shots. She loves walks, hikes, and just being around her owner in general. She is used to being left alone for long periods of time, so she is okay being left alone for a while. Bell does eat a special diet which I am more than happy to continue to pay for. Please reach out if you are interested. She is a sweet girl that needs a sweet home!

Story
Echo is 17 years old and a very sweet boy who loves to cuddle. He has separation anxiety, so will need a home with owners that will be around most of the time. He does have some behavioral urination in the house as a symptom of his separation anxiety. However, he will alert you if he needs to go outside when you are present. He has a couple of cysts on his body, which the vet believes to be benign and do not seem to give him any pain. He has good energy but also loves to snuggle up for a nap. His current owner is a single father of a child with special needs and unfortunately no longer able to dedicate the time and attention the Echo needs. There is another dog, 2 cats, and a small child in Echo’s current home and he gets along well with all. The ideal home would have pet parent(s) who are retired or work from home, so that he can have the company to put him as ease. We are hoping to find the right family to give him a loving and comforting environment in this late stage of life.

Story
Waylon is an absolute DREAM of a dog, really just the perfect boy! He does great with kids, does amazing in a home, is housebroken, crate trained, does great in a car, LOVES to be active and play and go on both runs and walks with his fosters, is super smart so easy to train, loves to snuggle and will calmly hang out with you while you work or watch TV, and is just the best boy! He seems really eager to be around other dogs so we don't see why he couldn't have dog buddies to play with! He is 100% joy and will be excited to see you every time you come home...and his fosters are working on trying to temper that pure joy that causes him to jump in happiness, but it always comes from a place of love and light! The struggles that Waylon has are purely medical but we have come to a plateau where with a great regimen of his medications, his diagnosis of Perennial Fistula Disease is easy to manage. And the nice thing is he takes his medications great! He does have to have an ointment on his rear, and does take some other oral meds, but he takes them very well. His condition also does require him to be on a very regimented diet that cannot be strayed from but Bonaparte's Retreat is more than happy to continue paying for his meds and his food because we definitely don't want that to be a deterrent for this perfect boy to find a home. He does require someone who can monitor his poops because they do need to be monitored, but he poops great on a walk which makes it easy to monitor! He also does need to be with a family that can strictly monitor his diet and not allow him to counter surf but he eats his special food great! We really can't speak more highly about Waylon and he would make some active family or single person an amazing BFFAugust 27, 2024, 11:44 am

Story
Bruce is a fabulous example of a forgiving and loving dog that was abandoned and found himself on the streets of a small town in Tennessee.  He had nowhere to go and some kind people took him in to hold him safely while Critter Cavalry Rescue takes time to find him the best home ever.   He is a Plott hound/Pit mix from what we can see in his markings and his stature.  He is 2 years old and 65 pounds and he is one special dog that is so handsome and is truly a gentle giant!  This boy has everything going for him with great house manners and housebroken as well.  He crate trained and is living in a foster home in an apartment.  He is a medium energy young man that gets along well with the other dog in his foster home.  He loves play time outside, as well as being a snuggly couch potato. Bruce is learning to walk on leash and will need daily practice to stop pulling. He loves to ride in a car, likes carrots and ice cubes. When at home he loves to look out the window and will do that for hours.  Recently he spent some time boarding and was a favorite with the staff and he demonstrated an ability to be very sweet and easy with some of the children of the staff members.  The only NO about Bruce is that he is not fond of cats, so no feline siblings.  He would probably do best with another gentle, playful dog of his same size.  He would be fine being the only dog and always center of attention, too!  Older children over 7 years of age might be best, but only because of his size.  If you are looking for a best friend and/or family member to run, hike, play, explore, and then curl up for some couch time, Bruce is your guy!  He is so beautiful and regal.  He looks around like he is surveying his kingdom and hoping that all is well.  You could really make his life a happy ending if you could consider adopting Bruce.  Please email us at ccrtennessee@gmail.com and ask all the questions that you need and also ask for an adoption form.
