Story
Meet Hallie
This beautiful young dog is Hallie. Hallie ended up at a kill shelter when her owner got into trouble with the law. With no one to care for her, Hallie was taken to a kill shelter where she nearly received a death sentence through no fault of her own. Thankfully, she got a stay of execution when we rescued her and brought her to our no-kill shelter. We are so glad that we had room for her. Hallie is exceptional and deserves a second chance.
Everyone who meets Hallie falls in love. Her pretty face and earnest eyes just melt your heart. All you want to do is make her feel safe and soothe her worries. Hallie is as gentle as they come. An innocent victim in a harsh world. She has a calm demeanor and a sweet personality. Hallie is housetrained, has beautiful manners and loves riding in a car. She loves going for walks but in her excitement can pull a little. A gentle leader harness may help with this issue. Hallie loves people and other dogs. However, after spending time in a foster home with another dog, we’ve learned that she might do best as an only dog in the house. She likes other dogs and does great with them, that’s not the issue, but she is so starved for love and craves her people’s attention. Hallie seems to be jealous of a companion dog in the home. She seems afraid that she’ll be tossed aside just when she starts to feel safe and secure and it scares her.
However, we have seen that she likes to play with other dogs and walks with them just fine. She loves being with her people and would welcome a home that loves and cherishes her, one where she feels safe. Hallie is going to bond tightly to her people. She is full of affection and snuggles. Until now, life has been dodgy and unsettling for this young pup, and she is starved for love and stability. Hallie is just three years old. She weighs about 60 lbs. She seems small for her size, probably because she is so quiet. Hallie is fully vetted. We’ll test her with cats for potential adopters. Hallie is a wonderful pup. If a family or person is looking for home-ready, lovely young dog to welcome to your heart and home, Hallie is about as perfect as they come and could really use a second chance.

Charles Smithgall Humane Society (CSHS) is a No kill shelter. Animals in our care remain safe with us until adopted. Resident animals are either owner relinquished rescued from area Animal Controls or high kill shelters. The facility usually is operating at capacity with a list of animals waiting for space to open.
