You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Mika arrived from Puerto Rico with her travel companions, and we are delighted to have this bundle of happiness. Mika is a Sato dog which is a street or beach dog from Puerto Rico. The Sato refers to a variety of small to medium-sized stray dog. Satos are similar in appearance to small Pointers or Terriers. These free-ranging dogs are known to make excellent family pets. Unlike other feral dogs, the Satos have a small territory, and many are always in contact with people. Mika was referred to as a Labrador/Plott Hound mix by the veterinarians who vetted her in Puerto Rico. Whatever she is, she sure is sweet. Mika is described by the folks who cared for her at Punta Santiago who rescued her as "amazing with dogs of all sizes, super people friendly, and having no food aggression." She is very happy and friendly and will make a perfect lap dog for some lucky family. Mika is approximately a year old and cat tolerant with supervision. We are looking for an adoptive family or foster home. adoption donation : $599 weight 40 lbs Age: 9 months as of 12/20 Nacho is an absolute love bug and will make an awesome family dog. This sweet boy doesn’t have an aggressive bone in his body, he is all tail wags, kisses and wiggles! Nacho was found abandoned with his sister in a rural part of Mississippi and was taken into the rescue and quickly settled in, he loved to run and play with the other dogs and snuggle up with his sister in a puppy pile to nap. Recently Nacho arrived at his foster home in the northeast and has charmed everyone, he is friendly to everyone he meets, not a big barker, he is housebroken, loves toys, and adores playing with his foster brothers and sisters. Ideally, we would like a home for Nacho with another dog to play with, he absolutely adores every dog he’s ever met and would make a fabulous playmate for any size dog, right now his best buddy is a 14 pound Boston terrier. If he doesn’t have a companion, Nacho would really love an owner who was around a lot, who would take him on walks and hikes or just spending time together, Nacho just loves to be with his person. Nacho is just a silly, funny, goofy and loving boy. He could use a little training, he does get excited and still jumps up a bit, but he is a smart boy and extremely food motivated, he would be easy to train. Nacho is the ultimate family dog, he would love to be in a home with children he can give sloppy kisses to. Wags is a struggling 501(c) 3 where one woman in rural Mississippi takes care of about 150 homeless and stray dogs. Adoption donations are the only source of funding for the rescue. We are looking for a home in a state where people treat their animals well. He has to be prepaid and picked up directly from transport near one of the cities listed at the bottom. If things don't work out for some reason, which rarely ever happens, he will go back to Oklahoma on our next transport until a new home is found. River is a male, possibly Plott Hound/Lab mix, and is approximately 1 1/2 years old and is around 75 pounds. Meet Fable: Fable is a one year old (as of October 2024) plott hound mix (best guess) that weighs 36 pounds. This rootin tootin cowboy litter of 3 (Farley, Farris and Fable) are sure to steal some hearts! These cuties were found abandoned in a rural area and luckily made it to our rescue. Fable is currently being fostered in the south and would love to take the freedom ride north to Pennsylvania to meet more prospective families. Well we are a loving family who loves all animals. We already had 3 cats and 2 older dogs. Our dogs are 12 & 13. My son has two very sweet dogs, Poppy (female) Catahoula Leopard Cur breed and Grimm (male),a very sweet and gorgeous dog that is a Boxer/Hound Dog mix whom we love so much. Poppy had one litter of puppies & my husband & I fell in love with Charlie. He was the smallest of all the puppies but to our surprise is now the largest of all of his siblings. He's now 6 months and is already as large as his father. Charlie is very smart and learns quickly. He is already housebroken and will let you know when he's gotta go either by sitting in front of you & barking or he will stand in front of the door and touch his paw on it repeatedly until he's let out. Charlie is very loving and sweet. He is also very energetic and wants to play all the time when he's not napping. He loves kisses, hugs and ear and belly rubs. We love him so much but don't have the time that he really needs.

Star was rescued in Louisiana. A lady that found her called me and said that she could not find a rescue group in Louisiana to take her. She had a gunshot wound through her jaw and ear. She was in pain. She brought her to me in Mississippi, and I got her the medical treatment that she needed. She had jaw surgery, and now her tongue permanently hangs out. We think this makes her uniquely special!! I know that her tongue hanging out may be a deterrent for a permanent home, but Star is such a sweet baby. She cannot help it that somebody shot her. She is a Catahoula hound, and her tail is docked. Star is a very sweet and loves to ride in the car. She loves dogs, and she loves children. She loves to roll over for a belly rub, and she knows the sit command. She is extremely smart. She loves to load up and ride in the car, and I believe that she was somebody’s baby at one time! Star has been in foster care and boarding for a while, and she wants a forever home! Also, if you live out of state, we use the most animal-friendly transport on the road. Rescue Riders Pet Transport. We alternate between the Northeast and the Midwest every other weekend. Transport costs are included in the adoption fee.
