Story

Bruce is a fabulous example of a forgiving and loving dog that was abandoned and found himself on the streets of a small town in Tennessee. He had nowhere to go and some kind people took him in to hold him safely while Critter Cavalry Rescue takes time to find him the best home ever. He is a Plott hound/Pit mix from what we can see in his markings and his stature. He is 2 years old and 65 pounds and he is one special dog that is so handsome and is truly a gentle giant! This boy has everything going for him with great house manners and housebroken as well. He crate trained and is living in a foster home in an apartment. He is a medium energy young man that gets along well with the other dog in his foster home. He loves play time outside, as well as being a snuggly couch potato. Bruce is learning to walk on leash and will need daily practice to stop pulling. He loves to ride in a car, likes carrots and ice cubes. When at home he loves to look out the window and will do that for hours. Recently he spent some time boarding and was a favorite with the staff and he demonstrated an ability to be very sweet and easy with some of the children of the staff members. The only NO about Bruce is that he is not fond of cats, so no feline siblings. He would probably do best with another gentle, playful dog of his same size. He would be fine being the only dog and always center of attention, too! Older children over 7 years of age might be best, but only because of his size. If you are looking for a best friend and/or family member to run, hike, play, explore, and then curl up for some couch time, Bruce is your guy! He is so beautiful and regal. He looks around like he is surveying his kingdom and hoping that all is well. You could really make his life a happy ending if you could consider adopting Bruce. Bailey, 10 months old (DOB 12/29/23) and about 60 lbs., paperwork lists “hound mix”. She’s house trained, crate trained, can keep a clean kennel all day, rides well, spayed/fully vetted, current on flea/tick/HW. No known food or skin allergies and is on no regular medications. This bouncy girl’s favorite things are playing ball, chewing on a good water bottle, and napping with her person. Bailey will do best in a home without cats - she is way too interested in them. She is excellent with dogs of all sizes and temperaments. She’s submissive and mellow; happy with 1:1 or group play, will match the energy of more aggressive play after 10-20 minutes, non-reactive with bullies, and will come lay down by you when she needs a break. She has a great disposition. She wants to be with you rather than a super independent personality, but also isn’t a Velcro dog. She still has big bursts of puppy energy but is expected to grow up to be a lazy girl. She does well with boundaries and “leave it” but can struggle with impulse control. Very strong with “wait/free” at doorways and feedings. No food aggression, gentle mouth with treats. She had some extreme collar sensitivity but we have been working on that and it has improved. She would probably do better with a fenced yard or with someone that is willing to work on her leash manners. She’s acclimated well to hearing outside noises of an apartment community. More reactive when “surprised” outside, but observant and will sit when the stimulus is a little further away / she has more notice. Bailey is an exceptional dog. Hugh was owner surrendered to us. He is super sweet and playful and seems to get along with other dogs. He does not like men however. video included of him playing with his buddy Mia est dob 9/24/16 The standard adoption fee is $200, but it may vary depending on the situation and the animal. We would like to introduce a very special rescue dog to all of you and her name is Pretty Pearl. Her foster mom says that she has been through fire and back and now she has the character of beautiful PEARL, like in an oyster. She has been formed by adversity and yet her spirit is pure sweetness and love. She has the markings and coloring of a Catahoula mixed with maybe a little Beagle which is what makes her all the more loving and easy going. At about 5-6 years old and just a perfect medium size at just 40 pounds, she is the perfect companion to someone who lives in a smaller environment like an apartment or a townhouse. She truly has an endearing calmness and mellow approach to life and all the people around her notices this unique quality immediately. Nothing ruffles her feathers at all. I take it all in stride and just smooth the edges if needed and keep on going. This girl is the perfect companion to someone that is in an apartment environment or a townhouse. She is small, a couch potatoe that will most certainly be an outstanding companion during the winter months when life seems to slow down and cozy companionship is most desired and welcomed. She was found living outside in horrible conditions and was full of ticks and fleas and very skinny. Well soon she was introduced to the luxury of an inside lifestyle at her foster home and she has NEVER looked back. She goes outside to do her potty breaks and rushes right back inside to keep her human fosters company. Now, if you are outside with her then all is grand. She is a skilled girl on a leash and if you want a hiking or walking buddy then Pearl is ready to go! She has had NO accidents in the house since coming to the foster home. Amazing statistics for a dog that lived outside all her life. Maybe she truly just feels like being called “Queen” Pearl now. She sure is being treated like a queen and she wants to stay in that kind of lifestyle. We think Pretty Pearl will be a wonderful well-kept secret for someone looking for the best companion ever in the world. Pretty Pearl will be the best dog you have ever owned in your life. She is potty & crate trained, eager to please, and already knows basic commands. Roxy lives for food, treats, and love from her humans. She`s well-mannered around the dinner table and makes a great office companion or hiking buddy - very quiet dog! She prefers slow introductions but is good with kids and other dogs. Roxy shows no signs of aggression or resource guarding and takes treats very gently. A patient girl, Roxy is a breeze during bath time and nail trims! She`s a quiet observer and is content chewing on a bone, playing with toys, and matches the energy at the moment. She previously suffered from neglect, hair loss, and itchy skin, but since being in her foster home she has made stellar progress and her soft hair is growing back quickly and beautifully. Roxy is very demure, very mindful. She will integrate easily into any home full of love and fits in anywhere she goes. No known exposure to cats, but Roxy is calm and remains unbothered so it is not likely to be an issue. -Potty & crate trained. Sleeps through the night and loves soft comfy bedding to snuggle in- Dog friendly with proper introductions. She isn`t reactive to dogs, but is uneasy if they come in with too much excitement- Loves pets & snuggles but also ok in her dog bed alone- Good on leash and loves to go for walks, explore and sniff - she is a curious hound and does best with a harness- Favorite activity other than meal time is chewing on her bones and toys- Fast learner and eager to please. She knows her name, sit, lay down, shake, and leave it- She has experienced breweries & adoption events and did great! Liked to meet people and did fine with strangers and children
