Meet Moose! Moose is a hound mix with long legs that are made for running! This handsome guy is currently in foster care, where he’s learned to be house trained, crate trained, and lives happily with an 8-year-old kid. Moose might start off a little shy, but don’t let that fool you—he warms up quickly, especially when you’re patient and give him the time he needs to feel comfortable. Once he does, you’ll see his playful, loving side shine through! As for his funny side? Moose has been known to think he's a lap dog despite his long, gangly legs. You’ll find him trying to curl up on the couch with you, attempting to fold himself like a pretzel—and we promise, it’s as cute as it sounds! If you’re looking for a sweet, active, and quirky companion who loves to run and cuddle (in his own unique way), Moose might just be the one for you!

Meet Nyx, the resilient and spirited pup with a heart full of love and a story of strength. Nyx first joined the HCAS family as a tiny puppy with a broken leg back in May of 2021. Despite her early challenges, she was adopted and began a journey with a new family. However, her journey took an unexpected turn, and she found her way back to HCAS in January of 2025, emaciated and suffering from a severe, untreated case of flea dermatitis.Nyx`s return was a heartbreaking sight. She was one tall and skinny pup, covered in painful scabs with very little hair. But with the dedication and care from the HCAS team, Nyx is on her road to recovery. Through many soothing baths and the right medications, her skin is healing, and her fur is gradually making a comeback. While we can`t promise that all her hair will return, what matters most is her indomitable spirit and boundless affection.Despite everything she`s been through, Nyx remains the sweetest girl. Her loving and cheerful attitude lights up the room, and she adores being around people. In our playgroups, she’s shown to get along well with other respectful dogs, proving that her heart is as big as her spirit.Nyx is now looking for her forever home—a place where she can continue to thrive, shine and be in a family where she can be treated like the queen she is.

We chose Canton from a litter of puppies at Greenville Humane Society, his name there was Pepperoni and he was one of 11! We thought we were adopting a boxer mix but not long after we brough him home he spoke to us lol and we knew we had a hound. He is a cuddle bug and loves his people. He does have separation anxiety and this is why we have made the very difficult decision to rehome him. We own a business and are on the go constantly. Canton needs a companion to hang with. He loves to run and play, go for rides, swim in the creeks, hike and explore the outdoors, and lay on the couch next to his person at the end of the day. He is dog friendly and often submissive, even to smaller pups. We have a cat and they get along great. He is healthy, energetic, and very loving. He comes with a Mini Educator training collar, bowls, and a new bed we just bought for him.
