You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Mika arrived from Puerto Rico with her travel companions, and we are delighted to have this bundle of happiness. Mika is a Sato dog which is a street or beach dog from Puerto Rico. The Sato refers to a variety of small to medium-sized stray dog. Satos are similar in appearance to small Pointers or Terriers. These free-ranging dogs are known to make excellent family pets. Unlike other feral dogs, the Satos have a small territory, and many are always in contact with people. Mika was referred to as a Labrador/Plott Hound mix by the veterinarians who vetted her in Puerto Rico. Whatever she is, she sure is sweet. Mika is described by the folks who cared for her at Punta Santiago who rescued her as "amazing with dogs of all sizes, super people friendly, and having no food aggression." She is very happy and friendly and will make a perfect lap dog for some lucky family. Mika is approximately a year old and cat tolerant with supervision. We are looking for an adoptive family or foster home. Maple is a rescue from Georgia. My mother-in-law has had her since she was 1. She is moving out of state and the community does not accept dogs. We have 2 small children and not enough time and attention for her. She is sooo sweet though. Just wants love. She is a barker, but has never been aggressive. We have a big family with 6 kids under 4 and she’s never had an issue. Very low maintenance, she is not high energy at all. House broken, good listener. Can walk off leash but will take off after a deer.
