Story
MEET KYLE! - I am in a foster home, please make an appointment to meet me!*Kyle`s adoption fee is waived thanks to the Jeff`s Fund*Kyle`s story is a truly remarkable one - it demonstrates the resiliency of dogs who have overcome their past. Kyle was living outdoors with several other dogs, and had likely never lived in a traditional home environment before his time in foster. He lost most of his fur to mange and tested positive for heartworm disease. Luckily, a dedicated foster stepped up to help him recover and give him some much needed R&R. Kyle is a friendly dude with everyone he meets from toddlers to construction workers & other visitors. He loves other dogs too but his true vibe is a couch potato. Kyle has recovered physically and is ready for a family to choose him as their canine companion so he can move onto the next chapter in his life! He would LOVE to have a yard as he thoroughly enjoys being outdoors. He will sunbathe till sunset and loves to roll around in the grass. Kyle would prefer a home where there are people home more often than not. He is very smart and is now crate trained and potty trained. Could use a refresher on his basic obedience but learns fast so that will be fun and easy to do! He will voice his opinions if he is left alone, so you may want to be careful if you live near noise-sensitive neighbors! If you can give this amazing boy the home he is looking for, please contact the shelter today!Kyle is currently up to date on all vaccinations, has been spayed/neutered, microchipped and been seen by our vet team. For more information on Kyle or any other animal currently residing at the Animal Rescue League of Boston, please call us at 617-426-9170. Story
Bruce is a fabulous example of a forgiving and loving dog that was abandoned and found himself on the streets of a small town in Tennessee.  He had nowhere to go and some kind people took him in to hold him safely while Critter Cavalry Rescue takes time to find him the best home ever.   He is a Plott hound/Pit mix from what we can see in his markings and his stature.  He is 2 years old and 65 pounds and he is one special dog that is so handsome and is truly a gentle giant!  This boy has everything going for him with great house manners and housebroken as well.  He crate trained and is living in a foster home in an apartment.  He is a medium energy young man that gets along well with the other dog in his foster home.  He loves play time outside, as well as being a snuggly couch potato. Bruce is learning to walk on leash and will need daily practice to stop pulling. He loves to ride in a car, likes carrots and ice cubes. When at home he loves to look out the window and will do that for hours.  Recently he spent some time boarding and was a favorite with the staff and he demonstrated an ability to be very sweet and easy with some of the children of the staff members.  The only NO about Bruce is that he is not fond of cats, so no feline siblings.  He would probably do best with another gentle, playful dog of his same size.  He would be fine being the only dog and always center of attention, too!  Older children over 7 years of age might be best, but only because of his size.  If you are looking for a best friend and/or family member to run, hike, play, explore, and then curl up for some couch time, Bruce is your guy!  He is so beautiful and regal.  He looks around like he is surveying his kingdom and hoping that all is well.  You could really make his life a happy ending if you could consider adopting Bruce.  Please email us at ccrtennessee@gmail.com and ask all the questions that you need and also ask for an adoption form. PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comNovember 4, 2024, 11:48 pm

Story
Meet Remy: A Loving Pup Seeking a New Home!Remy joined us about two years ago through a Bissell Foundation airlift from Texas. He landed in a fantastic home where he’s been showered with love, but unfortunately, circumstances have changed.Despite being a wonderful companion who’s great with kids, Remy’s family has a young daughter who is afraid of him, even though he has done nothing to deserve her fear. He’s an affectionate dog who just wants to be a part of the family, and his family has realized it’s not fair for him to be separated from them.  He generally ignores the youngest daughter, respecting her space. He occasionally gives her a gentle lick when they reunite, and although he’s knocked her over in play, it was never intentional. [This exact words from current mom]Remy isn’t much of a barker, but he has the sweetest howl when he’s happy or excited—especially when it’s time for a walk! He enjoys spending time outdoors, running around with his toys (he’s particularly fond of squeaky ones), and basking in the sun. His favorite outings are runs in the state park, where his puppy energy shines. While he’s not a fan of car rides and can get a bit nervous during them, he can take them when needed—maybe with a little CBD!His current mom reports that he LOVES OTHER DOGS. He happily walks on leash and has zero issues meeting humans or dogs. He also plays with other dogs of all sizes with no issues. If you’re looking for a joyful, affectionate dog who just wants to be part of the family, Remy is ready to meet you! Name: Remy LOCALBreed: Plott HoundSex: MaleAge: Approx 3 yearsWeight: 60 approx.Spayed/Neutered: YesVaccinations: Up to dateHeartworm: Negative on recent testingMicrochipped: YesBASED ON OUR OBSERVATIONS:Good with Children: He is good with kids - he moves quickly & may scare a small child (as in current home)Good with Dogs: YesGood with Cats: The current home has cats - he is playful and will chase - a dog-savvy cat will be fine!!Adoption Fee: $300.00Location of dog currently:  New EnglandIMPORTANT INFORMATION - Paws New England is a foster-based rescue - our dogs reside in various locations throughout the south and New England.  Adoption donations cover pre-adoption vet costs (including vaccinations, spay/neuter when age appropriate, and heartworm testing/treatment when necessary), a microchip, and transportation to New England if necessary.Donations for our young, healthy puppies and dogs support their fellow canines of advanced age or suffering from injuries and abuse whose donations are reduced but whose veterinary costs are typically much higher. Adoptable in: MA, RI, NH, CT, and VTGood with dogs: Yes, with proper introsGood with cats: Unknown, likely yesGood with kids: Yes, dog savvy childrenCrate trained: YesHouse Trained: MostlyThelma is a polite, easy-going girl! She loves being around people and well-mannered dogs. Thelma's a quick learner and is super eager to please. She tends to be more of an observer and wants to stay around her people rather than running and playing with other pups. She does well meeting calmer dogs, but can be overwhelmed when dogs jump on her and will retreat. Thelma would likely do well in a no pets home or one with a calm fur sibling. She hasn’t been around cats but is pretty laid back and might not mind cohabitating with one. Thelma has enjoyed meeting kids (10+ yo) so far but hasn’t had exposure to younger ones yet. She can be a little nervous in new situations but is always happy to go on an adventure and meet a new friend, especially if they have treats! Thelma is perfect in her crate, as she is crated during the day and overnight without a peep. She's had minimal accidents since traveling north and will continue to do great on a regular schedule and routine. She walks very calmly and politely on the leash and is happy to snooze the day away after a morning stroll. Thelma is a sweet, affectionate girl who just wants to be loved. Could she be the one for you? Please Note: All dogs currently available for adoption are posted on our website. He loves to play with every toy in the basket and will happily self-entertain for hours. He is looking for a family who will continue his training to help him build his confidence to be his best selfJamie gets along well with other dogs after proper intros, and would be fine with or without a canine sibling. With his gentle disposition, he would likely be fine in a house with dog savvy cats. Jamie has not yet met children, but would likely bask in their affection and pets. He is a bit clumsy and doesn’t always remember his size, so dog savvy children would be best for him. He is food motivated and eager to please, already learning "sit” and “crate” while working on “paw”, “wait” and “down”. Jamie is fully house and crate trained. He cues at the door when he needs to go potty. Jamie is crated overnight and for a few hours during the day. He may whine for a few minutes but settles quickly. Jamie is making great progress on his leash skills and enjoys his daily walks around the neighborhood. His adorable pout and goofy personality will surely have you falling in love with him in no time- is he the one for you? Please Note: All dogs are posted until they are officially adopted.
