MIA is a 2 year old plott hound that weighs 49 lbs. She was found underneath a porch during a cold spell this past winter. She was very thin and had lost most of her already short coat. Mia was otherwise healthy so time, patience and TLC was her treatment plan! Her coat is started to grow back, albeit slowly. Sometimes hair loss this severe can takes months. Now, almost 6 months after she came to us, we know she's a brindle. She is a very sweet, affectionate dog. She will bond closely with her forever family. She gets along well with other dogs and would be fine with children. While with us, Mia has graduated from foster home to our Paws Behind Bars prison dog training program. Here, she's under the close supervision of her inmate and learning the ABC's of obedience training. Her name Mia? It's short for Amelia Mignonette Grimaldi Thermopolis Renaldo because she is our princess! Can you help her to her final "glow up?" Story
I got Jackie from LMAS almost three years ago. She was very underweight and just had puppies when they found her. She is now spayed of course. She is almost 4 years old right now and has a ton of energy. she loves attention. Right now she is stuck in her kennel for very long periods of time due to my schedule. And she is unhappy now. I think a home where someone is home more often and that can take her out and let her run around in a backyard or something would be better suited for her. She loves to play fetch until the cows come home. She loves to go on walks and hikes as well. She also loves playing with other dogs. She just needs someone who can give her that and unfortunately, I can no longer do it. I love her and want the best for her, she is a very good girl.
