Vaughn is our longest term pup - an introverted extrovert that came to us almost three years ago in VERY rough shape. When he arrived he was skin and bones and terrified of the world. He would guard his food from other dogs and wouldn't let strangers approach him. With a lot of patience and work - this boy has made a complete turnaround! Vaughn is still a little shy with strangers, but after a quick sniff and a treat he's your best friend. In the home, this 70 pound pup thinks he's a lap dog and is always trying to curl up next to you. He currently lives with multiple small dogs and is doing very well - but will definitely chase a cat if given the opportunity (that's the hound in him). He loves to play with other dogs... but prefers calmer personalities that won't try to bully him. Vaughn is sweet and playful with the reserved disposition that middle age brings. A pup that LOVES his walks, but only half as much as he loves his naps. He's got a smidge of cattle dog in him as well and tends to be a bit mouthier and will herd his friends when he plays so an adult only home or a home with kids over 12 would be ideal. Adoption Donation: $500 My litter includes: Bailey, Charlie, Jamie, Jordan, and Morgan All dogs are microchipped, neutered, current on all vaccines, heartworm tested (if age appropriate), and up-to-date on preventatives at the time of adoption. An application is required to view our adoptable pets. All household members and any dogs from the household need to be present to be able to adopt. A photo ID will be required at the time of adoption. Appointments are HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. All applications are considered general. Specific animals are NOT put on hold for adoption. When you visit, our adoption counselors will be able to make suggestions based on the type of pet you are looking for and help you find the best fit for your family. Ash is a big happy guy who is easy to love. He may be 8 years old, but you wouldn't know it. He loves to play with other dogs (he gets along great with my own dog and my fosters). He greets us enthusiastically every morning when we get up and every time we come home. On walks, he's a little pokey because there's always a lot to sniff. He plays hard with other dogs both in the house and in the yard, but he also likes to sunbathe in the yard. He's a big guy and his beautiful brindled coat improves a little every day. In our home, he's thriving, and he makes us feel well appreciated. He's well-mannered and housetrained.

Have you ever read a novel that has so many twist and turns that by the time you get to the last chapter, you have NO idea who won and who is the REAL good guy?? Well, I believe my life is like that. I came from somewhere, no one really knows where, and I ended up at the pound, somehow.... So i was actually adopted as a cute puppy from the pound..... and THEN 5 months later... I was saved at a busy intersection with a badly injured back leg.... no "family" around :( SO, luckily I was saved by a RESCUER!!! I mean, what are the odds?? So my name is Artie and now I am healed up and looking for my furever REAL family. I am a great sized pup, 30# of fun and love and all kinds of playtime! I love to run and play, tug of war and keep away I excel at and the zoomies too! I am great with other dogs, and kids and am ok with cats but require a good introduction and experienced dog/cat introducer with monitoring as I may chase a kittie if it runs. So, I also have learned quite a few commands, sit, stay, crate, working on leave it. I am super smart AND MOTIVATED to help find my next best chapter. I will cuddle with you when I am tired and I love to be close to you. ADOPT ME SOON!!!
