This distinguished gentleman is Blaze! He was surrendered to the shelter on 1/28 because his person was moving and he wasn't able to join them. His person was visibly upset when she had to say goodbye because she'd had Blaze since he was a puppy. We've been told that Blaze is house-trained and good with kids! The volunteers had a tough time getting good pictures of him because he was howling and watching the parking lot to see if his person would return for him. It was heartbreaking. The volunteers describe Blaze as super sweet and he knows his commands. If you have a soft spot for the seniors who just want love, a comfy bed, and a safe place to spend the rest of their days, please come meet Blaze! Blaze is 10 years old, and he weighs 70 lbs. He is UTD on vaccines, and he has been neutered. He will be microchipped and heartworm tested upon adoption. Blaze is waiting patiently in run 854; his ID # is 7804. Note - all the listings on Friends of Shelter Animals for Cobb are done by volunteers. If this cat or dog came in as a lost animal, we do not know how they might be with children, other pets, or if house trained. Lily is a beautiful young Plott Hound/Mix. She&#39s estimated to be around 1yr old, and weighs 33lbs. This sweet girl ended up at an overcrowded Atlanta shelter after she was running around a trailer park in Conyers, GA with her sister (Millie) and they were both picked up as strays. They both ended up very sick, and were at risk for euthanasia list before BarkVille Dog Rescue stepped up for them. Lily is now completely healthy and is ready to find her forever family! Due to her past, she is a little shy and fearful until she gets to know you. She is friendly with other dogs, and is crate trained and house trained. Lily has a medium energy level. She is working on her leash manners, and is learning her basic commands. Lily would love a home that would continue to help her gain confidence, and work on her basic training. She would also do well in a home with another friendly dog. Lily is spayed, fully vaccinated, and microchipped. Ahoy there me mateys. Sea Biscuit (aka Steve) is looking for a new first mate. He’s been shipwrecked for a while and would love to sail on to his final port (a good home.) Sea Biscuit has more than a little in common with a certain Captain Jack Sparrow. Both are devilishly handsome, both a bit impish and both have hearts of gold. Sea Biscuit is an energetic 3yr old weighing about 60 lbs. He’s currently living in a home with several dogs and gets along best with dogs that match his energy (medium-high) because he is very playful. His foster home has cats as well and they may find him a little annoying because he wants to play with them all the time and they just tolerate his silliness. SeaBiscuit enjoys car rides, sleeping in his person’s bed and is a health nut known to enjoy cucumbers and carrots as a snack. His foster describes him as a bouncy kangaroo who’s cuddly, energetic and would do well in an active home that provides him with lots of exercise (any runners out there?) and structure. SeaBiscuit needs to sail away to a new foster or preferably an adopter and comes with an offer of a training package so he can leave his pirate ways behind. I’ve had Simba since he was a puppy however I no longer have the space for him or enough time to give him the attention he needs. He’s a very sweet dog but needs more attention and more exercise than I can give him. He is 7 years old, very energetic and playful but still loves to lay on feet and take a nap. Would like to get him into a home with a yard as he will need a lot of exercise. He grew up around children ages 4-10 so he’s pretty used to being around kids and I have never had an incident. He is a big dog and can get very excited, he also barks if he needs something or wants to sleep by you. He is the perfect dog for someone who is able to give him tons of attention and time!
