Meet Dewey Decimal! Dewey entered Downey Shelter as an emaciated stray. When he wasn't claimed during his hold period, he quickly became at risk for euthanasia as a senior at an over-capacity shelter. Fortunately, we were able to rescue Dewey on December 10th. He has come so far since then! Dewey has developed a wonderful appetite, even eating a bonus meal, and is gaining some much-needed weight. Dewey is blossoming in other ways, too! After clearly being on his own for quite a while, Dewey didn't seek out attention and kept to himself. Now, he welcomes ear scratches and gentle pets. Dewey enjoys going on our weekly group hikes, and he is a fun walking buddy! Though Dewey is a bit stiff, as you can see in the video, he keeps on truckin' and loves sniffing on the trails. He has great leash manners - doesn't pull and stays calm around passing dogs, big and small. Dewey Decimal dances for back scratches, too. So cute! Stop by to meet this sweet and gentle guy between 10 AM and 3 PM any day of the week!

If you’d like to learn more about this pup and their fluffy friends who are looking for their furever homes, check out our website: https://amazingdogs.org/available-dogs/ If you would like to reserve this doggie and have us bring them to the event of your choice for you to meet first, you can do so by paying a non-refundable deposit of $50 to our Venmo or Zelle account (619-918 2142 in the name of Amazing Dogs; pls indicate your telephone number). This deposit will go towards the adoption fee. After receipt of your deposit, we will confirm your reservation and list the doggie on our website as ‘Pending Adoption’. If you decide not to adopt one of our Amazing Dogs, the $50 is considered a compensation for the transportation costs. All our doggies come with their health record and have received all necessary medical care, which includes (but is not limited to) all vaccines, de-wormer, anti-flea/tick medication, microchip and of course spay/neuter surgery. Our adoption fee is $500. Only in California, the fee for babies under a year old is $600. Please consider this not as a price you pay for the doggie, but as a (tax-deductible) donation to our charity, so we can continue our work and take care of the 250+ dogs in our shelter. She is very curious, athletic, affectionate and loving. Zsa Zsa is outgoing and confident. She is a lap dog. When not playing or investigating the yard, she prefers to snuggle and curl up next to or on top of you. ? Zsa Zsa is a well-adjusted puppy who has been hand raised. She has never shown any signs of aggression of any kind, including food aggression. All of the puppies are fed together, and typically choose to share three or four bowls. Zsa Zsa is used to playing and sleeping with the other dogs on the property. She is well socialized, both with humans and dogs. This big boy is the sweetest, most loving dog I’ve ever met! It honestly breaks my heart that I am not in the position to keep him!! He is still kind of a puppy, but a pretty lazy one, he definitely needs a yard to be able to stress his long legs but he is not very hyper. Just has spurts of energy but then he’s done, he’s favorite pass time is snuggling on the couch! He’s super friendly with people, even good with kids and loves playing with all other dogs! He is crate trained and listens very well.
