Story
Upon arrival, Hershey and his siblings were skittish, avoiding human contact and showing signs of fear. Their behavior was typical of cats who have had little to no positive interactions with people. The staff at the shelter knew that it would take time, patience, and consistent efforts to help these cats feel safe and valued. Over time, consistent gentle interactions began to show positive effects. Hershey has now become a loving companion. He makes sure to hangout near the front of his kennel and greet visitors with an enthusiastic meow, letting you know he wants some attention. He has even started to enjoy being picked up and snuggled, often rubbing his head against your chin to show his love in return. Since he has spent a good portion of his life at the shelter, Hershey still gets a little nervous when placed in a new setting but, with continued support, Hershey will surely fully embrace life as a cherished pet.
