Story
Meet Dotty! Born to a feral mother, this beautiful girl came into foster care as a shy young lady, but has blossomed into a playful and affectionate companion. She'll delight you with her silly antics! Her playful spirit shines through when chasing any feathered toys or pursuing the elusive laser dot. Want to win her heart? A bag of Temptations treats is your golden ticket to becoming her favorite human! Currently living harmoniously with other cats and a dog, she's earned the title of "Official Welcoming Committee" in her foster home, taking new foster cats under her wing and even grooming the little ones. While she loves her animal companions, she prefers the company of adults and older children who understand and respect her need for personal space – she's not shy about setting boundaries when she feels crowded! Dotty is the perfect blend of independence and affection. She'll greet you at the door with loving rubs and happily curl up in your lap for snuggles, but on her own terms. Being held or carried isn't her style, but she makes up for it by being an excellent companion! While adoption events can be overwhelming for our sweet girl (she's not a fan of cages or crowds), it would be best for Dolly to meet perspective adopters in person in order to get the full picture of just how sweet this beautiful girl is! Story
Say hello to Buddy! Easygoing and Friendly are two words that perfectly describe him. Back in 2019, Buddy was fostered by his current foster mom. He was surrendered back to AOSC through no fault of his own and was adopted. No fault of his own was surrendered a second time in 2024-- he would love to find his FUREVER home. His foster mom has this to say about him: "Before coming back to me as a foster, Buddy was up for adoption at an adoption center, but was terrified at that particular adoption location. As soon as I brought him home, he has been nothing but sweet and affectionate! It has been fun fostering a previous foster of mine! Buddy loves human attention and loves to rub against your legs and be petted. He wants to be wherever YOU are! His foster home has 2 adult cats and he gets along with them very well. His last home he also got along with the other adult cat in the home. Buddy is curious and loves to sit and stare out the window. He LOVES Catnip and his favorite treats are Catnip Temptations! As a matter of fact, his favorite toys are filled with Catnip too! Buddy is a Good-Natured fellow who prefers to keep his space clean, including no bad litter box habits. This Handsome, Affectionate boy will be a great addition to a new family, and hopefully find the forever family that he deserves! Buddy is currently in a foster home. If you feel like he would be the perfect fit for your family, please consider visiting shelbycats.com/adopt to begin the application process!

Story
Meet Ladybug, a young feline with a heart full of potential. Though initially shy, she carries a unique charm that unfolds gradually. A hiss may greet you as you approach, but don't be deterred. This is merely Ladybug's way of testing the waters. Once she senses your gentle intentions, her walls come down swiftly, revealing a heart yearning to love and be loved. Ladybug's shyness doesn't hinder her curiosity or love of play, though! Her playful nature is infectious, and she's always ready for a game, be it with other feline friends, alone, or with her human companions. She considers everything a toy, making every day an adventure. Her favorite pastime? Carrying around small objects she finds interesting, turning the space into her personal playground. She especially loves small, sparkly balls. Ladybug's athleticism shines through in her quick pounces and agile leaps. She has a medium energy level, making her a perfect companion for both quiet nights and playful afternoons. She's a cat that enjoys the simple things - a comfy spot to nap, a sparkly ball to chase, and the occasional treat. Ladybug is not just a cat; she's a companion, a confidante, a friend. She's a silent listener, a playful mate, a comforting presence. Ladybug is a bundle of joy wrapped in a layer of caution, waiting for someone patient enough to unwrap her. And once you do, you'll find a treasure of affection and companionship. So, consider bringing Ladybug home. She may hiss, but she also purrs, and that purr could be the melody your home needs. If Ladybug sounds like the perfect fit for your family, please consider visiting shelbycats.com/adopt to begin the application process!
