Story
Comet is almost 4 years old (in May). He is so patient with small children and loves other dogs. He gets along with cats too. He is super friendly and wants pets from everyone he meets. We are hoping his new home will have space for him to burn off energy outside, or a family that can take him in lots of walks. He does have seizures, and due to a recent move across state, we cannot afford the vet visits to figure out treatment. This is largely the reason we are looking for a new home, so Comet can find a family that can give him the care he deserves.

Story
Onyx is an almost four-year-old Pitbull terrier we've had since he was a puppy. This furry friend is loving, full of energy, and ready to bring joy and laughter to your life. He’s a strong dog that thinks he lives in a small body and is unaware of his size at times. He loves people and he’s good with dogs similar to his size. He’s crate trained and leash trained but he could use some retraining. He loves to play and run outside. He isn’t neutered yet, but he will be soon. He does have allergies and we are still in the process of ruling out whether it’s diet or seasonal. He has a paw condition called pododermatitis., so his paws are a little inflamed and we use wipes or foam daily to treat it (twice a day). It’s a chronic condition so it's something that needs to be managed throughout his life. Otherwise, he has all his shots and he's a healthy size. If you're seeking a loyal companion who's always up for an adventure, Onyx is the one for you.

Story
Meet Koda! Koda originally came to us in January 2023 after she was found as a stray and she was not getting along with the finder's dogs. In the ten months that Koda has been with us, we have seen both the good and bad with her. While we are happy to adopt her out to the right home we would still be open to a rescue taking her into their care so she can continue to work on her behaviors. Koda is very picky about the people she befriends and lets into her space and is available to be visited by those with approved applications only. The kennel environment is stressful for many dogs and unfortunately amplified some of the negatives in Koda's behaviors. While in the kennel or when she is insecure in her environment Koda will guard items that she considers of high-value. In the shelter we have seen that in the form of her toys and her food/water bowls. She does not display these behaviors with staff she has bonded herself to or, generally, when she is away from the other dogs and not in the kennel. Due to these behaviors, any potential adopters will need to have previous experience owning dogs and may be required to visit with Koda more than once before taking her home! Koda cannot go to a home with other dogs, cats or kids. When Koda is comfortable with you, she is a gem of a pup! She LOVES to give kisses and will hop up for hugs and an ear scratch. This two-year-old pup is a huge fan of treats and is always ready for a snack! Koda knows 'sit' and 'leave it' currently. She is an extremely toy and food motivated pup and would love to learn more in her forever home! Her previous adopters did state that she was house-broken and generally a very well-behaved dog outside of her not getting along with their dog. Koda has done fantastic riding in the car for staff and also walks nicely on leash. Stuffed toys or anything that squeaks are her preferred toys to play with while in the yard or hanging out with staff. Koda also enjoys playing in water and would love to go to a home that will give her plenty of outdoor adventures! Staff knows that with the right home and people, Koda will make a fantastic dog! Koda is spayed, vaccinated and microchipped.
