He tends to resource guard, so his new family should be prepared to work with him on this behavior. This handsome Shepherd mix is estimated to be about 1 year old, and he`s on a journey to find a loving home where he can heal and thrive. You may recognize him from Quinte Lost Paws, who recently secured him. During his rescue, Marley was understandably stressed, which led to some aggressive behavior—this is quite common for dogs in high-stress situations. Since arriving in our care, Marley has been very shut down, making it difficult to assess his full personality, behavior needs, or compatibility with other animals at this time.Marley is looking for a home that can offer him patience, understanding, and a fresh start. He’s not yet comfortable enough for us to evaluate his behavior in detail, including how he interacts with cats or other dogs, so we recommend a home without children, cats, or other dogs until we can better understand his needs and provide further guidance.We know Marley has a lot of potential, and we’re hopeful that with time, patience, and the right person, he will start to open up and show his true, loving nature.
