Story
Gunner is a great dog who isn't quite used to having little kids in his house. We recommend older children for him to be successful in a new home. Gunner is playful and loving. He gets along with other dogs but doesn't care for the cats much. Gunner is a bit of a parrot because he loves to lay on the back of whatever you're sitting on! He loves to be brushed and petted. :) You have to meet him to appreciate his quirky personality. Gunner has a bit of anxiety and would benefit from only having 1 other animal in the home or no other animals in the home. We feel he would also benefit from someone being home a majority of the time. He really is a good boy who just needs a chance to love someone. Gunner is microchipped and crate trained. He does howl once in a while in the night. :) Come meet him!

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Volunteer fave in the house! Bram arrived at the shelter on Sept. 29th, after he went unclaimed at the city pound. He's a happy and energetic husky mix with icy blue eyes. We do think he's mixed with some type of herding breed. He's friendly and ready for action at all times. He's also very loving. His size is in the medium range and he's most likely 1 to 2 years old. He has been vet checked, neutered, and chipped. His fee is $150. We're hoping to find Bram a home that has some experience with husky types. They are notorious clowns who love to run! Bram does require basic obedience training and a lot of regular exercise to keep him settled. He loves to play and be with people. He has a tendency to be strong willed so he needs an experienced owner who is ready and willing to work with this. Cats are most likely a no for him. An adult only home would be best and a fenced yard would be perfection. He could do well with a well mannered dog of similar size. NOTE:  Adoptions are done via private appointment once an application as been completed and approved. Applications must be submitted at our website, mchs.rescuegroups.org. Keep an eye on your emails if you apply. We are located at 101 22nd St. SE in Austin, right next to the airport. It's exit 180B off of I-90, right off of 218 South. We do require that potential adopters be at least 21 years old and that any resident dogs be up to date on vaccinations, heartworm testing/preventatives, and spayed or neutered.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 5, 2024, 10:55 am

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Warren is a younger guy (1 to 2 years old) who was found as a stray on a rural property. He was held for the legal stray hold and no owner was ever found, so he came to us on 11/11/2024. He looks mostly like a German shepherd mix, but there could be other breeds in there like cattle dog and husky. He has been vet checked, neutered, and microchipped, and his fee is $150. Warren is a larger, strong boy who will require some good, consistent training and good exercise. He seems pretty well mannered and loves to be with people. He needs an experienced owner who can set clear, firm boundaries with him. We're not sure how he would do with other dogs as he can be possessive of toys and food. Cats? Most likely a no. No kids for him as he does need some training and still demonstrates some puppy behavior (mouthing and jumping). He'll definitely require some regular brushing to keep his coat fabulous! A fenced yard would be perfect for Warren until he perfects his leash skills. NOTE:  Adoptions are done via private appointment once an application has been completed and approved.
