Story
Schofield A18279066 lb. neutered male, approx , approx 3 years old -This big fella is also a big baby. He came to us very timid and nervous of everything! He has since settled in some and more of his personality is coming out!-He walks decent on leash and only occasionally tucks his tail now-He has started to loosen up and play with toys. He will fetch and bring them back as long as he can stay focused. Sometimes he’s like a toddler and another “shiny object” catches his attention and he forgets what he was originally doing. He’s comical!-He enjoys pets and attention but doesn’t seem super needy at the moment-He gives a few kisses once comfortable-He likes treats, might know “sit” (he managed it a couple times) and takes them gently. He doesn’t seem to understand how to eat them from your hand though and did better with them from the floor.-He needs a little patience and guidance-Seems non reactive to dogs nearby and may do well living with a fur sibling after slow and proper intros Unknown behavior with dogs/cats/kids •Meet all of our adoptable pets on our website friendsofdacc.org/adopt •Please keep in mind that the shelter can be a very stressful environment. •Studies show that a minimum of 3 days decompression drastically lower stress hormones and allow the dog to show more personality after they have settled in. •There is a suggested donation of $100 for our dogs, payable by cash, check or through paypal at the time of the adoption. •To meet them please go to front door and a DACC staff member will assist you with adoption or fostering. **And when coming to meet one of our dogs, please bring all the humans with you, but leave any current dogs at home. Staff will go over how to slowly and properly introduce them after a decompression period.** •The shelter is open 7 days a week from 10:30-5:30 **1431 E Ferry St. Detroit

Story
Poppy Flakes A18290874 lb. neutered male, approx 3 years old -He loves to start off by sniffing and exploring his surroundings-Once that was taken care of he came over and pushed his whole body into me for pets and attention. Each time I would stop he would nudge for more.-Occasionally gives small kisses-Likes treats and takes them nicely. He does not understand what “sit” means quite yet and needs some training in that area-He briefly grabbed a stuffie to play but lost interest quickly-Walks nicely on a leash with minor pulling on occasion-Good, handsome boy!-Seems non reactive to dogs nearby and may do well living with a fur sibling after slow and proper introsUnknown behavior with dogs/cats/kids •Meet all of our adoptable pets on our website friendsofdacc.org/adopt •Please keep in mind that the shelter can be a very stressful environment.
