Story
Ritz knows the name Scout. He is a 6.5 years old German Shepherd mix (possibly with border collie as he is smart and focused). He is medium large sized and weighs about 50-60 pounds. He is perfectly house trained and he is crated trained to go in happily for a treat. He knows many commands like sit, down, paw (BOTH feet), spin, and roll over.  Scout needs a home where he gets to be the only dog living there but will be sure to fill your days with tricks, antics, and LOVE if you adopt him. He does fine encountering dogs on walks (even if they are losing their minds barking at him he stays cool as a cucumber), just prefers not to live with them and have to share the attention. He would do best with older kids who can respect his signals and who aren't as noisy as young kids can be. He has told my elementary aged kids they were being too loud and tried to herd them out of the room with barking and body pressure more than once now while he was trying to nap and they woke him.January 18, 2025, 5:49 pm

Story
Like her namesake, Holly Golightly is a stunning beauty!! She has silky soft black fur with the legs of a Rottweiler and her eyes are simply gorgeous! The shelter that Holly came from estimated her to be 5 months old but after talking to the vet, we believe she is closer to 7/8 months old. Either way, she is such a good girl! She has done extremely well with potty training and keeping her crate clean - even on the days that foster mom has to go into the office for 8 hours. Holly has been great with all of the dogs in the home. We have both males and females ranging in 10-80 pounds. She wants to play with everyone and be their best friend! With that said, she may have just a bit too much puppy energy for the older pups. And while she is good with the resident cat, she wants to play with him too. So, a dog savvy cat would be best. I would classify her as medium to high energy when it comes to playtime but she is also very good about settling down and curling up with you for a nap or bedtime. She is working on crate training - meaning she only goes into the crate when it’s feeding time or a treat is involved. Other times, she has to be nudged into the crate as she still has some light puppy chewing tendencies. She is also working on leash walking and doing well. Now would be the perfect time to set her up for success and enroll her in basic obedience training. She is such a sweet and loving girl that she would make a great addition to any family!! Story
No small animals or cats. Pray driven and will chase. Excellent with dogs, kids & strangers coming into home . Commands taught : no, wait, settle, staycome. leash trained pretty quickly. Very quiet in his crate, but will need a dome/airplane crate. He can get out of a wire crate if he wants to. Cannot be left unattended at home yet. If Adopter is not home. rides excellent in the car. Needs training for living inside of a home regarding not taking pillows etc. but he was learning quickly. This is an alpha male dog, strong leader and watch her over the entire pack. He will need an experienced handler who has time to train him and exercise him as he does have a need for exercise. And a large yard I would not recommend an apartment style lifestyle he needs a large yard to run in. He respected the boundaries of the fence and didn't ever try to jump it. Very calm and regal dog. Hard to her so he needs indestructible type of toys etc. Do not put a dog bed in the crate with him he will Tear it . Fully potty trained and will paste in front of the door if he needs to go out. Knows how to use a doggie door.  February 15, 2025, 9:37 pm
