Story
A family friend rescued Bruno from a hoome where he had been mistreated as a puppy back in August of 2023. She was unable to keep Bruno where she was staying so we offered to watch him until she found an apartment of her own. Thankfully, our friend has settled into a new apartment but they do not allow pets over 20 pounds (Bruno is approximately 40 lbs). We have an 8 year old Yorkshire Terrier who does not share the same energy level as Bruno and they are getting on each others nerves. We love Bruno and want him to have a good home where he will be loved and taken care of. No adoption fee is required. If Bruno is a good fit for you and your loved ones, he will come with a 48x30x32 inch crate, food bowl/stand, food bin, leash, and treats. Thank you!

Story
Meet Breezy! Hi, I’m Breezy, a 2-year-old Husky mix with a whirlwind of energy and a heart full of love! Weighing in at 55-60 lbs, I’m the perfect blend of strength and snuggles. My journey started in Texas, where I was abandoned, but I made my way to Illinois, and now I’m on the lookout for my forever family—could that be you? I’m a high-energy gal who loves to play and explore. I get along well with other dogs, especially with proper introductions, and I’ve even found my best buddy, Kal El, in my foster home! When I’m not zooming around, I’m a total love bug, ready to share affection and soak up all the belly rubs you can give. I’m both crate trained and house trained—zero accidents here! My foster family says I’ve got the silliest, most adorable ears that give me a permanently curious and playful look. And yes, I do the classic "Husky talk," adding a bit of sass and personality to every conversation. While I’m already a pretty awesome pup, I’d thrive with a family who can continue my training. I’m eager to learn and would love someone who can guide me with patience and consistency. Whether we’re going on adventures or cozying up at home, I promise to bring joy, laughter, and love to your life. If you’re looking for a sweet, spirited, and slightly goofy companion, I’d love to meet you! Let’s make every day a breezy, tail-wagging adventure! Our standard adoption fee is $375 cash or check and $385 credit card ($10 processing fee). . It includes spay/neuter when age appropriate at our participating vets, age appropriate core vaccinations, fecal testing, deworming, flea and tick preventative,1st vet visit at one of our participating vets, and micro-chipping. We must have an application, conduct a phone interview, and meet your entire family to approve an adoption. Applications will not be reviewed unless fully completed. An application does not commit you to adopting and does not guarantee adoption but does allow us to begin the review process. Please email adopt@safehavendogsIL.org for an application or additional details. Please note that the breeds and sizes posted in this biography are educated best guesses and are not guaranteed. Story
Porsia’s Dating profile 🐾💓 I’m a pretty girl with a fantastic personality! Ready for a fun time? Will you be my favorite copilot and partner in life? I may not drive fast cars although I have had to live life in the faster lanes due to circumstances. It’s been a thrill ride with a recent “freedom ride” from Texas with my puppies. Now that they are taken care of, I’m actively looking to settle into a more simple, yet structured lifestyle. I’m just over a year old. I’m a dainty, light on my feet (or not too heavy on your lap) 45lb puddle of love. I’m a really neat, good looking girl who’s thankful for the soft place with my foster parents and 3 resident dogs (whom I adore) but I’m now looking for a real love connection of my own💕 I’m a striking magical mix of Shepherd, Husky, and Cattle Dog. My one blue eye and one brown eye makes me a real looker! I would love an active family to share adventures with, solo or with other dogs who can keep up with me. I can be a bit of a chatty gal… it’s hard to hide my husky genes sometimes although when asked to “shoosh”, I comply. I like my crate (fully crate trained) and quiet down quick after a minute or two to nap or chomp on a good tasty bone. I make the perfect car copilot or couch buddy. I am a loyal pup but also really like to meet new people and furry friends. I tend to roll over frequently and ask for all the belly rubs and attention from humans, big and little 😉 I am very playful, enjoy a jog or a good hearty dart around the yard. I like my selection of bones and toys. Squeaky ones are the best and some fetch is perfect! After some play, I just LOVE to cuddle. I’m learning what your personal space is but I do love to be in it if you’ll have me 💓 I’ve been around other families, dogs, and kids during my time here in Illinois. They all have fallen in love and taken good care of me until my pups grew and I was ready for my next adventure. I’m still young and learning. I can get so excited to see you and jump up, but my foster humans are helping me learn better manners and ways to manage that excitment. I’ve been told I’m making wonderful progress. I am very motivated to learn and a smart one. I walk well on a leash. I do enjoy sniffing the cool air and exploring my surroundings. I’m fully potty trained. I always take care of business quickly when I go outside. It’s cold here in Illinois, no doodling around out too long there for me. I sit when asked and listen pretty well when you tell me no or leave it. A firm “Ah Ah!”, I take the hint. Can we make a date to meet, a match, or real love connection? I’ll be waiting content until then

Story
Meet Greta: Hello, I’m Greta! I am a playful and VERY inquisitive 8 year old German Shepherd . I am just over 64 pounds (for now) as my foster mom is taking good care of me to get me back on track. I am expected to be about a healthy 75lbs. I was on the euthanasia list in Texas, because I was there “too long” 45 days to be exact , but got a second chance at life thanks to Safe Haven and my foster family! When I arrived to my foster home, I first met my furry foster sister Maya! She’s the best and I am learning a lot from her. I still don’t know my name but I am getting better at it! I know basic commands such as sit and stay. I am working with my Hooman foster siblings on “shake”, “stay” “lay down”. The best part is all the treats I get I am still learning to go down the stairs but I am making progress every day! I am completely housebroken and crate trained. Most nights I snuggle with my furry foster sister on “my” designated couch space but.. I also find comfort in my crate and will sleep soundly in there if needed. I love my foster family’s and get along and play respectfully with them. Fetch is my favorite! I also do great on a leash and love to take walks. I enjoy snuggle time with my foster mom and love playing With my foster siblings. While I have learned to respect my foster family’s resident cats, I would probably do best in a home without them. I would, however, thrive in a home with another playful pup! I have not met any young kids, so I’m not sure how I would do with them. However I met many of my foster siblings friends and do great!! If you are ready for a loyal and playful companion, I just may be your perfect match! Our standard adoption fee is $375 cash or check and $385 credit card ($10 processing fee). .
