Story
Tater is right at one year old, I rescued him from a man who had him in the back of his pickup truck. The man had given Taters brothers away and he was trying to home him. He had not had any vaccines, not been neutered, and had fleas. I felt sorry for him. I have a 6 yr old golden retriever and a 5 yr old chihuahua mix and at the time I thought I could make it work. However! I live in a subdivision and tater has learned how to escape through the garage dog door and keeps running loose in the subdivision. I have a new large durable kennel that I could give away with him. I just don’t good about leaving him in it for my 9 hour work day, He’s very sweet, requires moderate exercise and has not shown aggression. He’s well suited as both indoor & outdoor dog. He’s very sweet and I’m very sad at the thought of rehoming him but I know he needs more than I can give him. Please help!

Story
This is MACON! The handsomest 2 year old male who is a very striking breed of dog and dog. Seriously, we're not sure his breed but we know he'll be a larger pup and he's wonderful. Macon was found running down the middle of the highway in Macon County, was found by some kind souls who took him in. Macon loves other dogs and kids, but he has a bit too much energy for the good Samaritans that found him. He foster sister is a 13 year old Chi that Macon is very respectful to, but the Chi is a bit cantankerous and doesn't like to share. Macon knows his manners, caught on to the basics very quickly, he knows to sit, stay and other basic commands. He absolutely LOVES toys. His fosters say he could chase a tennis ball or frisbee forever (fetch level pro) but he does very well when let inside to cuddle on the couch too. If interested in adopting one of our available pets, please fill out an application at http://www.dixiegirldogrescue.org/adopt-form Most of our are pets are fostered in Southern foster homes and are posted for adoption once they are completely vetted and ready to travel. Our pets are adoptable in Alabama and New England States. Story
Meet Coco, a one-year-old husky mix with striking blue eyes and a spunky personality. Coco is confident, determined, agile and very playful. She’s the life of the party at her foster home.  Coco’s recent breed test determined that she is 36% Siberian Husky and 28% Labrador Retriever, as well as small percentages of Treeing Walker Coonhound, American Pit Bull Terrier, Australian Shepherd, American English Coonhound, small Poodle and German Shepherd. An eclectic mix!  All that added up to Coco being a somewhat petite girl, weighing in around 45 lbs at almost full grown.  Coco is sure to make you laugh out loud and perhaps shake your head in disbelief at what she can do! She’ll hop right over another dog while playing or hop up on top of a large crate in one very impressive jump. Nothing stops her from getting to where she needs to go. Coco is crate trained and sleeps quietly in her crate at night. But on occasion, she has turned into the Harry Houdini of dogs and has escaped a shut and latched crate. Thankfully she is not destructive when left unattended, and she has not escaped a fenced yard.  Coco is super food motivated and very easy to train. She will sit in record time for just a basic milk bone. She can be a little bossy at dinner time but she’s not food aggressive and she’s fine eating with the other dogs in her foster home. She just really loves to eat and is willing to express that to her human with an enthusiastic bark.  Coco is super friendly with all people and other dogs. She loves to play! She’s a very confident playmate but will take cues from other dogs and back off if her playing style is too much for them. She’s also a sweet companion to her doggy friends. She loves nibbling on their necks to comfort them and show her affection.  Coco’s ideal home would be an active one. She loves going on walks and takes one with her foster mom every morning. She’s pretty relaxed during the day if she’s had her morning walk. She’s also obsessed with getting in the car and loves going for car rides.  Coco has an adventurous spirit, and her perfect family would want to take her with them on all of their adventures.

💕Miss Harriet This sweetheart is Miss Harriet. She is a young Husky (1-2 years) with the absolute sweetest disposition. Harriet is currently living at a vet clinic and all the staff adore her. 😊 Harriet loves everyone she meets and gets so excited when she has a visitor. She is good with other dogs but not a fan of cats. She is great in her kennel and very quiet and calm. She loves walks, playing in the yard and most of all just hanging with her peeps. Harriet only weighs around 45 pounds so she is the perfect size for going on all the fun adventures. 🐾 Harriet would do well as a family pet or a best friend/companion. She needs a secure fence and someone who can devote time and attention to her. If you are interested in learning more about this precious girl please submit the adoption application. Harriet is ready for her forever family to find her and give her the life she deserves. Whoever ends up with Miss Harriet will definitely be blessed ❤️
