🐶 Quick Facts 🐾 • Name: Siena • Age: 3–4 years • Gender: Female • Spayed: Yes • Breed: Pharaoh Hound Mix • Colour: Brown • Height: 45-50 cm (to the shoulder when standing on all fours) 🐕My Story🐕 Hello! I’m Sienna, and I can’t wait to share my story with you. My journey began in 2022 when I was found in a drainage ditch at a school in Gwangju, having been abandoned. Thankfully, I was rescued and brought to the shelter, where my gentle and sweet nature quickly shone through. I’ve already learned some obedience commands, like sitting and waiting patiently, which shows I’m eager to please! 👨🏻My Social Side 🐕 I might take a little time to warm up to new faces, but if you offer me a tasty treat, I’ll become your friend in no time! I love snacks and enjoy savoring them slowly, so you’ll often see me taking my time at mealtime. Once I feel comfortable, I enjoy being petted and you can lift me as much as you want. Although I haven’t interacted much with kids under 13, I’m open to forming friendships with gentle humans. I tend to be cautious around energetic dogs, I might need a careful introduction to new furry friends. If another dog provokes me, I might respond to express my discomfort, but I’m more interested in cuddles than conflict! 🔋My Energy Level & Walks🚶 With a moderate energy level, I love outdoor activities and enjoy exploring during our walks, even if I tend to pull on the leash a bit. I like to follow my nose and see where it takes me! At home, I’m generally quiet, and while I may not bark much, I do have my moments when something interesting happens around us. I’m adaptable with my bathroom habits, using both indoor pads and going outside. 💕More About Me😋 One thing to note is that I’m a bit protective over my food when other dogs are around, so it’s best to supervise me during mealtime. However, I’m not protective and will happily share with my human friends. Also please be mindful when you give me snacks with bones. Just in case I don’t swallow too fast. I can be a bit anxious about getting into the car, so I might need a little help with that. I have a great appreciation for treats and toys, often enjoying my playtime independently. While I may not always seek out interaction with other dogs or people, I bring my own unique charm and affectionate spirit to those around me. 💌Last Message💌 I’m a charming pup with a unique appearance that truly stands out! My sweet nature complements my distinctive looks, making me a delightful companion. I’m looking for a loving home where I can shine and thrive. If you’re ready to embrace my one-of-a-kind spirit, I promise to bring joy and warmth into your life! 📺 Videos📺 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=24nLHh5MFCA&list=PLIsLTtIpe3JxJAarlduKRDzmaPU2V2nKU

Story
Luna is a nearly 4 year old Egyptian Baladi who we rescued in late 2021 with her mom and siblings. She has found herself back in our care and we need a placement for her as soon as possible. Luna needs a home with either no other dogs, or only male dogs. She is not good with female dogs. She is also leery of (human) men, as she has only been minimally exposed to them - she spent the first year of her life with only women and was fostered by only women for the next 2 years. A home with a male is okay but she will need some time and space to decompress and gather her confidence. Egyptian Baladis are very sweet and loving dogs. They take some time to open up and trust, but once they do, they are loyal companions. They are very quick learners and have no issues adapting to new situations and surroundings. Baladi’s are said to be mixes of the ancient sighthounds and are very fast. They love to run and chase balls and toys around. While Luna may look like a “plain Jane” in her photos, she is strikingly beautiful. Luna is currently at a temp foster home until mid December, but is able to be moved to a different area for the right foster home.

Story
Meet Jenni! A 1 year old Egyptian Baladi who made her way into the care of BSDRO after a journey spanning nearly 10 000 kilometres. Jenni was found in a garbage pile, beaten, and battered at the base of the Great Pyramids of Giza. She was saved by a kind human who couldn’t bare the thought of leaving her behind, and brought her safely home to Canada, where she eventually made it into our care. Jenni is an extremely athletic dog who is looking for an equally athletic family or person to match her energy. Somebody who works from home would be a fantastic fit for Jenni, as she craves attention and stimulation, and loves to be around her people as much as possible. Jenni loves to go go go! She is always ready for an adventure. She would do best in a home with a large, fenced in yard, where she is safe to run and play with her people, and a doggy friend who can match her energy would be a big bonus! At night time Jenni will cuddle up with her people on the couch or in bed, looking for as much love and pets as she can get her paws on. The first couple of days in a new home Jenni will be anxious and need time to decompress. Somebody who understands that this is very temporary will be met about 1-2 days later with an extremely happy and loving dog who is excited to give hugs, kisses, and play. While Jenni had a history of being fearful of men, in her foster home Jenni has grown a loving attachment to her foster dad (and her temporary foster dad while her regular foster dad was on vacation!) and shows no fear of men after the first day or two. That being said, Jenni should have a female in the home to help boost her confidence. Jenni is leash trained, crate trained, potty trained, and quickly picks up on new tricks, eager to please (and earn some yummy treats!). She has been fostered with multiple cats, dogs, and children and done wonderful with every person and every creature she’s met. Baladi’s are a special breed of dog, and a potential adopter unfamiliar with the breed should research their traits and temperaments before applying to adopt. Baladi dogs must learn from a young age to fend for themselves, so they often first appear to be stand-offish, but this fades quickly. In our experience, they do best with another dog in the home, but are also known to play rough so another dog in the home should be able to handle this type of play. Because of their street-savviness, they are more often than not quite fearful and skeptical of new people, but once they trust you, you will not regret your decision to adopt a Baladi. They are highly intelligent, athletic, and extremely loyal dogs who learn quickly and make a great addition to a family environment. Jenni is spayed, up to date on relevant vaccines, and microchipped.
