Story
I may be 10, but I like to think of myself as senior in high school, so handsome and young-looking! I’m also just learning how to be a dog! Toys and bones have become some of my favorite things along with lots of love. I really enjoy walks and my foster mom says I’m great on a leash if you don’t mind me exploring both sides of the sidewalk. Since I came to KC REGAP in January, I’ve learned that most humans are actually really nice and now I love to meet new people; I get so excited! I’m not sure about other dogs along the sidewalk, and I definitely don’t do well with small dogs or cats. In the backyard, you won’t find me doing zoomies yet; I haven’t quite figured that out. However, I have discovered my voice and love to let you hear it when I get excited or am ready to play! I’m super gentle with treats!  I am learning the rules of the house and have done okay with my foster sister, but my mom says I would really do well as an only dog! That way I get to get all the attention. My ideal household would be one with older human siblings (teenage+) or adults. I still get startled and will let you know if I don’t like something, but my foster mom says I’ve made huge improvements since I came to KC REGAP. Patience is key with me as I’m still adjusting my personal space; but I will lean in real hard (almost knocking you over) as I show you affection! Story
Hi there! My name is Guinness but my foster parents call me “Little Man” sometimes, maybe because my foster brother is 90lbs so I look little compared to him! I’m getting used to this living in a a house thing—if I stand by the door, I get to go outside and roll around in the yard, watch for squirrels, run laps and eventually “take care of business.” I also LOVE to go for walks and I’m getting better about walking in a straight line—my foster dad has been working on this with me. My foster parents tell me that I’m a good boy—I don’t bark at other dogs on our walks, but it is exciting to see a rabbit or squirrel! My other favorite thing is toys—toys are AWESOME! My foster mom plays this weird game where she puts all of the toys back in the basket and then I have to go get them and put them back in the living room where they’re supposed to go. I’m getting along well with my foster brother and sister—sometimes my foster sister and I will run laps in the backyard which is really fun too!  I get along great with my foster siblings but I would be ok getting all the loving, too.   I do need at least a 5 foot fence.  I love my people and would really love to have my very own forever family!   We adopt within 1 1/2 hours of Kansas City.July 6, 2024, 3:14 pm

Story
We are 4 years old and bonded.  Sisters Sophie and Sissy need your help. This loveable pair came to REGAP recently and their situation is a difficult one. Sophie has end stage kidney disease and is undeniably bonded to Sissy. Both girls are 4 years old and have been together since they were puppies. We’re looking for a foster or furever home for both girls. They love people and are sponges for affection. However, Sophie cannot tolerate cats or other dogs (except for Sissy). We’re unsure of what Sophie’s life expectancy will be, but right now she is showing no symptoms of her illness. Both are very happy, personable girls. They love to play and go on walks (they’re both great on a leash). For the home who fosters or adopts these pups, REGAP would pay for Sophie’s special kidney diet and anything else needed for her comfort in this hospice situation. Her adoption fee would be waived. Sissy is fine with other dogs. Like her sister, she is not cat safe. When Sophie passes, Sissy will need a canine companion – be it a foster dog or a furever pup who joins the household (this new dog could not join the home until after Sophie passes). We want to give these girls the happiest lives by keeping them together and spoiling sweet Sophie as she lives out her final days. Can you open your heart and home to these sweethearts? Due to the upcoming July 4 holiday and the kennel being full at that time, we’re working hard to get them placed by July 1. Please send any and all questions to: information@kcregap.org Thank you for considering!! We adopt within 1 1/2 hours of Kansas City.July 6, 2024, 3:14 pm
