Some cats are social butterflies. I’m more of a cautious observer. I’m Sawyer — a thoughtful, quiet soul who doesn’t hand out trust easily. When you first meet me, I might greet you with a little hiss. It’s not personal — I’ve just learned to be careful in new situations. The shelter is loud and overwhelming, and I’m still figuring it all out. But here’s my secret: If you’re patient, kind, and willing to give me a little space, I’ll come to you. I might rub against your legs or gently ask for pets. I even start to purr. I’m not the type of cat who wants to be carried around or smothered with affection — I prefer low-key companionship, quiet moments, and letting affection grow at my own pace. I’d do best in a calm home where I can feel safe and take my time settling in. I’m not a great fit for young kids or high-energy households, but if you’re the kind of person who finds joy in earning an animal’s trust — I might just be your new best friend.
