Story
Kaya is a gorgeous young lady. We are not sure if she is Persian or Himalayan or a combination of the two. She was found on the street. Somebody obviously left her with no regard to her safety. She is adorable. So sweet and friendly. Loves to be petted and doted on. She hasn’t been in her foster home long so her true colors have yet to come out. We would love to see her in a loving home with another cat. We prefer homes with experience caring for long haired cats due to the fur maintenance these kind of cats require. Fostered in Fairfax, VA

Story
Senorita is a gorgeous, young, white female kitty. We think she has Persian in her due to her fluffy tail and round little face. Fur length is medium. Fur as soft as angora. Lil Senorita was initially very shy when she arrived at her foster home. Poor thing was just scared and timid from being rescued off the street. She has blossomed and is now almost bossy. Senorita is small. She is very playful and likes to be brushed. We would like to see Senorita in a home with another cat or dog. Persian or long hair experience preferred due to maintaining long fur. Fostered in Fairfax, VA

Story
Ozzy is a 10.5 year old Persian that was surrendered for inappropriate litterbox use. He has used the litterbox just fine since arriving to the shelter. We believe Ozzy would do best in a low traffic, calm, adult only household. He is a sweet (declawed) old man that's ready for his new start! Come by the shelter to meet him today!Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.March 27, 2025, 2:46 pm

Needs special attention,
Story
Meet Snow, a precious and beautiful girl with obvious Persian genes. Once she feels at home, Snow is friendly, affectionate, and loves pets and attention. Curious and loving, she has a calm demeanor but enjoys batting around toys with wires, strings, or a catnip mouse. Her steady, rumbling purr is a testament to her contentment. Snow adores being close to people and would thrive in a family that can spend plenty of time with her. She's observant, calm yet curious, and her foster mom believes she would make an outstanding office assistant, supervising computer time and providing quiet companionship. Snow has stunning blue eyes and a very expressive face. Her fluffy white fur and poofy tail are likely to become more plush and luxurious with regular care and a healthy diet. Being deaf doesn’t slow her down—it just makes her all the more special. She sleeps deeply but isn’t fazed by household noise, so feel free to vacuum to your heart’s content. She will need regular grooming as her coat grows in more thick and full, and daily wiping of those baby blues. Rescued after being abandoned, Snow is from the streets of Cairo. Thanks to a dedicated rescuer, she received the veterinary care she needed and a passport to travel to Northern Virginia. Now healthy and fully vetted, Snow is an absolutely adorable kitty who will bring a smile to your face. Estimated to be around 2 years old, she gets along with other calm cats so would likely be open to a feline sibling in her new home given a gradual introduction but would also be perfectly fine aas the only kitty. Having traveled all the way from Egypt in search of her forever family, Snow is now fostered in Burke, VA. Her adopter should be willing to stay in touch with her rescuer, who formed a close bond with her. Snow is sure to become a wonderful best friend for her new family. Don’t miss the chance to welcome this lovely girl into your home and enjoy many years together! Please reach out for an application.

Story
I adopted the him from a breeder. Milo is very gentle and sweet boy. He loves to be around kids but prefers to be around at some distance. He is only 11 month hold. I am looking for a new home for him with an owner who understand the needs of Persian cats because I have developed cat allergies recently (even though I have been around pets and cats for since my child hood). He requires prescription diet or home made simple food.

Good with cats,
Story
This elegant lady is Maude, a stunning Persian with a soft coat, big personality, and a perfectly balanced blend of sass and sweetness. She’s around 3 parts nap queen, 1 part curious observer, and 100% cat with opinions. Maude is calm, confident, and incredibly well-behaved. She’s neutral toward other animals and perfectly content sharing her space—as long as they respect her bubble. She does best with mellow housemates and seems to prefer the company of humans (especially if they offer chin scratches and soft voices). Maude has a soft spot for crinkle toys, cardboard boxes, and anything she can climb—just because she’s laid-back doesn’t mean she’s not curious! She’s very clean with her litter box and requires a bit of ongoing grooming care, including daily face wipes and coat maintenance as her fur grows back in. She’s currently rocking a stylish shave, and her skin will need a little TLC while her coat fills back out. Maude would love a home where she can quietly rule the roost, lounge in sunbeams, and follow her favorite human from room to room. She’s affectionate, gentle, and a little bit bossy in the best way. If you’re looking for a cat with a regal air and a heart of gold, Maude is ready to claim her throne. At the time you are seeing this post, this cat is still available for adoption. But please know that we may be working on multiple applications already, and any one of them could be approved at any time. Please READ THIS ENTIRE DESCRIPTION and complete an adoption application if you are interested in any of our animals. The application can be found at https://greendogsunleashed.org. If you send an inquiry to ask if the cat is still available, or just tell us you are interested, your inquiry will not be answered. FILL OUT AN APPLICATION. We can do NOTHING without that. */*/* PLEASE NOTE: We will email you if additional information is needed, so please keep an eye on your inbox and spam folders. */*/* Young kittens will receive age-appropriate vaccines and will be spayed/neutered before adoption. Adopters may be required to provide additional boosters and a rabies vaccine. Future annual vaccines, testing, and healthcare are REQUIRED, and will be the financial responsibility of the adopter. Please note you must submit an application, be approved, and submit a refundable hold deposit before a meet and greet will be scheduled. You can fill out an application here: https://greendogsunleashed.org/adopt While we do allow out-of-state adoptions, the adopter must be able to travel to Charlottesville, Virginia, and meet in person at an agreed-upon time to take their cat home. GDU does ask for a minimum adoption donation of $125.00 for cats. This minimum donation does not cover all expenses as we are funded solely by the angels and volunteers willing to donate time and finances. This minimum donation includes age-appropriate vaccines and flea and tick treatment, as well as neutering or spaying if the animal is medically sound and is unable to undergo surgery. This minimum donation does not even begin to cover each animal's expenses while in rescue, but does go directly towards vet care for our rescue animals. ##2310646##
