Story
Mackey is an old girl (11) but a special one she still likes to play and has spurts of her youthful energy. She is very cautious and but of a scardy cat in new situations and does not trust easily. She will be better one on one as she is older and just needs a calm environment. She will be good with someone who is sensitive and empathetic. She is really sweet and just needs a really good home. This is the hardest thing I have ever done and truly saddened to part with her 💔

Story
Carrot Cake was found wondering the streets of Kuwait. She was dirty, discharge from her eyes, and with ear mites (see video link below). With the hot weather approaching she was going to make it on the streets. She was lucky and showed it in her video when she was rescued by Kuwait Animal Aid. They took her to the vet to get check out and then once she was cleared she went into boarding. Once FFFR had a flight available, she was sponsored to travel to the US. She has been patiently waiting for a home to call her own. Please give Carrot Cake a second chance at a forever home.https://www.instagram.com/p/DHs_p3esko4/?utm_source=ig_web_button_native_sharehttps://www.instagram.com/reel/DHtDi6BsUgt/?utm_source=ig_web_button_share_sheethttps://www.instagram.com/reel/DHyMtUDsfDI/?utm_source=ig_web_button_share_sheet

Story
How this pet arrived: KC was brought in by her previous owner on November 4, 2025.Why this pet is the one for you:Meet KC - a lovely little enigma wrapped in fur. She's beautiful, independent, and has opinions about... bathroom real estate. KC has a bit of a history with skipping the litterbox, and while the exact "why" remains one of life's great mysteries, we suspect she wasn't thrilled about sharing her space with another cat and may also have some early kidney changes. KC is looking for a drama-free home - no dogs, no other cats, and definitely no chaos. Older kids who understand the concept of "personal space" or an adult only home would be perfect. A calm environment and a dedicated "KC Room" to help her reset her litterbox habits will set her up for success. She may take her time to settle in, but once KC feels comfortable, she'll reward your patience with quiet companionship and her own brand of quirky charm. Although she has an independent streak, she may snuggle with you at night, once you bond! Think of her as a cat with main character energy - she just needs the right stage to shine! Don't forget to bring a cat carrier for a safe ride home! Shy/Fearful Cat:KC requires a virtual behavior consult, please watch THIS video to learn more about her. Primary Color: Brown Tabby Secondary Color: White Weight: 10.1 Age: 10yrs 2mths 1wks

Story
How this pet arrived:Flower was brought in by his previous owner on December 20, 2025.Why this pet is the one for you:Meet Flower, a sensitive soul with a heart of gold who just needs the right "garden" to truly bloom! While he might start off as a bit of a wallflower due to his fearful history, this boy has a spunky side that shines through once he knows he's safe. Flower is looking for a calm, quiet, and predictable home where he can be the center of attention. He's looking for a dog-free environment with savvy humans aged 12 and up who are ready to follow expert coaching. Building a friendship with Flower is all about the "slow and steady" approach, using high-value treats and delicate play to win him over. He's already shown he can be quite social when introductions are handled with care, but he'll definitely need an extended acclimation period to get his bearings. Keeping his stress levels low isn't just about his mood-it's vital for his health! Flower has a history of urinary issues, including a past obstruction, which means his new family needs to be vigilant. He recently received a long-acting antibiotic for a UTI on January 3rd, and his new humans will need to schedule a vet follow-up on or after January 13th to make sure he's feeling 100%. His future family will need to keep a close eye on his litter box habits, because if this handsome fellow is ever straining or unable to go, it's a straight trip to the emergency vet-no questions asked! If you have the patience to let him set the pace and the commitment to manage his medical needs, Flower is ready to reward you with a lifetime of quiet companionship and gentle purrs. He's a special boy who just needs a special person to recognize that the most beautiful flowers sometimes take a little extra time to open up. Don't forget to bring a secure cat carrier for a safe ride home!Shy/Fearful Cat: Flower requires a virtual behavior consult, please watch THIS video to learn more about them. Primary Color: Black Weight: 8.3125 Age: 5yrs 2mths 2wks

Story
IN FOSTER: Mies and Minnie's foster is committed to helping them find a new family! To begin the adoption process, please reach out to the foster directly at: lesliesdhsfostervolunteer@gmail.com. How this pet arrived: Mies was brought in by a community member on October 4, 2025. Why this pet is the one for you:Minnie #968507 and Mies #446698 (pronounced Meece) are bonded sisters who are looking for a home together! They're currently in a foster home and we have had the joy of seeing them settle in and show their sweet, gentle natures. Relaxed and affectionate, they've only lived indoors in a calm, quiet home and will do best in a similar environment - they haven't ever lived with other pets or children. They may be shy at first, but with patience they warm up beautifully. Minnie could use a little diet and extra playtime, but both adore treats, daily brushing, wand toys and the occasional catnip party. They're tidy girls who do best with at least two jumbo litter boxes. Most days they nap together, then in the evenings cuddle on the couch, the bed or their kitty condos. They enjoy both wet and dry food, and "squeeze-up" treats are a favorite. If you think these sweet sisters might be the right fit, reach out about adopting today! At SDHS:Mies has been vaccinated, microchipped and spayed. She is now ready for her new home! Primary Color: Black Secondary Color: White Weight: 11.8 Age: 7yrs 6mths 3wks
