Hello, my name is Abbas which means lion in Arabic. My foster moms says that I am a big baby and she's not lying. I weigh over 10 pounds, but I am also a big cuddle butt. I love to get my fur brushed and get my little nose scratched. I flop on my back to get tummy scratches. When I get hot you will catch me sprawled out on the floor even though I have so many places I could nap. I will sit on your lap for ages and enjoy grooming you. I love to play with wiggly things but am not a big catnip mice fan. I am good with dogs and cats no matter the ages. I would need a home that understands my needs of being groomed and have owned Persians before. I would also need a friend that I can play with and share my sunny spot with me. I got my kitty overseas from an adoption agency. He had previous owners but I don't know anything about them! When I adopted him they estimated his age as about 3, so now ten years on I'm guessing he's around 13. He's really curious about new people and gets along well with them! He's affectionate but that said he's not particularly attached to me, so he will do well in someone else's home. He has lived with me in four different homes and always adapts well. He does well in pet hotels and with check-ins from pet-sitters if you go out of town. He's getting older but will still play. He is a chronic sneezer. I have him on a cheap otc medication to reduce the sneezing. I strongly recommend an enclosed cat condo or enclosed outdoor area where you can keep him when you're not around to clean up his sneezes. (I am happy to give you my cat condo if you are local.) Aside from the sneezing, he has a clean bill of health and updated vaccinations from the vet as of November 2024.

Gracie was adopted by my mother when she was about 1 year old and cared for the past several years, however we think something traumatic happened to her prior to my mom adopting her from a local shelter. Gracie is very sweet once she feels safe with you, but also very fearful of anyone who comes into the home that is a stranger or unfamiliar and she will hide under the bed. Unfortunately, I am not able to take Gracie in at this time as my mom will be moving. Gracie requires an experienced and patient caregiver that will take the time to work with her and provide a safe space.
