Story
Lulu-9 years oldOwner surrender due to no fault of her ownHouse trainedGood car riderGood with other dogsExtremely food and treat motivatedReserved at first but once she gets comfortable she really attaches to her personLoves to sleep in her human’s bed with themPerfectly content to chill on the couch with you and/or get out and take a walk or hang in the backyardMerry Christmas from Lulu!! She’s made so much progress in the last two weeks and has really started showing off her spunky personality. Here are some facts about her: She is extremely treat motivated, and that’s been a great motivator and trust builder for her She likes to do puzzle toys and is a pro at solving them She’s been working hard on getting used to collars, harnesses, and leashes and has been so brave while we practice with them. She currently does best with a martingale collar. I’d still recommend a fenced yard for her, if possible, but I think she’ll be a walking pro in no time She absolutely loves my 11 year old son, and they have a blast chasing each other around the house. She would do great with older kids who are dog savvy She is 100% potty trained and uses the bathroom as soon as she goes outside Still great at co-existing with other dogs Low energy gal who loves her napsPicked us Miss Lulu yesterday to foster She’s a shy, nervous gal, but you can tell that she badly wants to connect. She just needs to take it slow. Her crate is definitely a safe space for her, but she has explored the house and yard a bit. She isn’t a fan of leashes or collars yet, but I was able to get a harness on her this morning by being patient, so I think that will be a huge help! Seems to be a co-exister so far with my dogs and has no interest in playing just yet. She does her business outside pretty much immediately, but it can take her a minute to be convinced to venture out there. She also loves treats, so I feel like that food motivation will help with her trust! She’ll need an adopter who understands that she needs some patience, but I think she’ll be a great companion with just a bit of time and love.If you think Lulu is for you please apply online or email russellrescuetn@gmail.com if already approved Available dogs are met by pre-approved adopters ONLY after a match is made. The application is the first step.
