Hello, my name is: Lt. DanDOB: 10/7/2021Sex/Breed: Neutered male Corgi/Jack Russell Terrier mixWeight: ~30 lbsFriends: Adults, older kids, dogsTraits: Affectionate, friendly, playful, resilientRescued From: Overcrowded shelterSpecial Needs: Lt. Dan is deafMeet Lt. Dan! This sweet boy may be deaf, but he has a heart full of love and a personality that shines brightly. Lt. Dan is friendly with everyone—he gets along well with women, men, and older kids who understand his needs. While he can be a bit mouthy when first meeting new friends, this is just his enthusiastic way of saying hello. With proper introductions, he quickly warms up and is eager to make new pals. Lt. Dan enjoys the company of other dogs and snuggles up on his bed with his furry friends at night. While he would benefit from having another dog for companionship, it’s not a requirement. He will need a home without cats. Dan seems fully house trained and crate trained, though he might fuss a little when settling in; once comfortable, he’s a champion sleeper. With a medium to low energy level, Lt. Dan loves his zoomies but also enjoys long, cozy naps. He rides well in the car and is a pro on the leash. The ideal home for Lt. Dan would have a fenced yard where he can run and play freely. He needs a family that can use hand signals to communicate, as he’s eager to learn and connect. A little patience and understanding as he adjusts will help him feel secure. Fun facts about Lt. Dan include his adorable smile, which he shares after little adventures, and his love for snuggling on the couch or under the covers at night. Kisses are his way of expressing gratitude and love. Lt. Dan is a sweet boy looking for a forever home where he can thrive and share his loving spirit… could that be yours??All our pets are microchipped, spayed/neutered, and up to date on vaccinations and preventatives.Interested in adopting? Story
Dexter is a 7 year old neutered male corgi who weighs 28 pounds. He was rescued along with several other dogs when their owners could no longer provide for them. These pups are very easy going, love their people and they have tested well with other dogs. They are enjoying the luxuries of living indoors, love to cuddle up on their beds and take treats so nicely. Do you have room in your heart and home for one of these needy pup? Story
Meet Rocket, a 1 year old male Corgi, who loves LOVE, play, and has a need for speed! Rocket was surrendered from a commercial breeder, so when he landed in his foster home, he was very spooked by electronics, cars, and any other noise he may have not heard in farm setting. He is adapting nicely, but can still be fearful of loud sounds. Rocket loves going on walks and shows high interest in small animals. Due to this, his forever home should not include cats or small critters. He also is very excited to meet doggie friends and although he comes on strong, he is dog friendly and just wants to play! He is also just as friendly with meeting human friends! Don’t forget, Rocket is a herding breed, so we suggest a home with kiddos 10 and older. Rocket is very well crate trained and is quiet and peaceful in his space. He also sleeps very well through the night on his dog bed. He does not climb on furniture, but would likely sit with you if you gave him permission! He enjoys going on car rides and his Lo-fi tunes get him to relax and take naps. He has learned to stay while his foster parents hide a toy and then he goes to find it—he is very smart! Rocket also enjoys squeaky toys and being in the company of his people when eating. Rocket is fully vetted, UTD on all vaccinations, and neutered. If Rocket sounds like a great fit for your family, please go to www.zoeshouserescue.com to fill out an application! Story
We discovered Ein in a shopping cart at 8-weeks old. He has always loved people. But even at 12 yrs old, he still loves to chase, go on hikes, and wag his tail for attention. He'll lie by your feet when you're on the sofa or bed. He knows commands including sit, lie down, heel, leave it, speak, shake, hi-five. We try not to ask him to roll over anymore because he has trouble with his tiny legs and old age. He has two torn LCLs in his hind legs. But he still moves great. However, he is pretty sensitive about anyone assertively touching him there. He's never had accidents at home and he won't dare rip up any of your possessions, though he loves to gently carry your clothes around if you happen to leave them on the floor. He has a great food drive so can be taught new tricks for treats. An ideal rehoming would not have kids under 10 or other small dogs. I can offer guaranteed dogsitting and some walks if local. He still has a lot of smiles and love to give in his final years.
