Story
Meet Thelma & Louise 🐾 These two little ladies came to Castoff from a backyard breeding situation where they simply weren’t getting the care they deserved. When we got the call, we jumped in to help and now these girls are safe, loved, and slowly discovering that the world is actually a pretty nice place. Thelma and Louise are still coming out of their shells, but every day we see a little more sparkle. A tail wag here, a curious sniff there, and the occasional “maybe humans aren’t so bad after all” cuddle. With a little patience and a lot of love, these girls are going to absolutely bloom. They are now fully vetted and ready for their forever homes. They can be adopted together or separately, though we suspect they’d both vote for homes that include soft beds, kind humans, and a steady supply of snacks. Breed guesses? Your guess is as good as ours. The theories range from Corgi to Chihuahua to “mystery sprinkle of everything.” What we do know for certain is that they are 100% Certified Love Nuggets. If you’ve got a little patience and a lot of heart, one of these sweet girls might just be your perfect match. Want to meet Thelma or Louise? Fill out an adoption application and come say hello. Fair warning: they may steal your heart… and possibly your spot on the couch. 💜 Meet Louise here: https://new.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/CPRG/Dog

Story
Hiya! My name is Fish!Could you image a cute lil', medium sized, Corgi lookin' mix like myself was dumped at a mobile home park in Acworth? All that was found with me was a crate covered in a sheet and a good samaritan that stated they saw me thrown away and torn from the only family I've ever known. I was scared. I was sad. But my friends here have shown me that not all humans are cruel, some are so nice and they've only ever shown me kind hands. The animal control officer that saved me affectionately gave me my fishy name due to my proclivity to flop on all the humans I meet. If you think you can love a silly, one year old, guy like me, please come meet me! I kindly ask to meet canine and human siblings I may live with and since I was dumped with no information shared about me, my friends here do not know how I will do with cats. Weight: 40 lbs Primary Color: Tan Secondary Color: White Weight: 38.5 Age: 1yrs 1mths 1wks

Story
Mannix, or “Nix” for short, is a wonderful 2-year-old, 30-pound Corgi mix with a huge heart and so much love to give. Nix came to us from a hoarding situation, where he lived with many other dogs and had very little exposure to the outside world. Because of this, many things are still new to him—but he is learning every day that the world can be a safe and happy place. Once Nix trusts you, his personality truly shines. He absolutely adores his people and shows it in the sweetest ways. He will dance when he sees you, roll around happily in the grass or on the couch, and lean in for belly rubs and snuggles. He loves being close to his people and enjoys cuddling up next to you on the couch. He also loves to wrestle and cuddle with the other dogs in his foster home. Nix is crate trained and house trained and has been a very polite house guest. He has not gotten into things he shouldn’t and settles nicely in the home. He is also doing very well with leash training, especially when he is walking with someone he trusts and wants to stay close to. He is learning about car rides and has been going on new adventures with his foster mom, slowly building confidence along the way. He is a very inquisitive and thoughtful little guy. You can practically see him thinking and analyzing the world around him. Nix is also very food motivated and learns quickly, which will make continued training fun and rewarding. Because of his past, Nix will need a patient and understanding adopter. He may take a little time to warm up in a new home. Both of his foster moms shared that it took about a week and a half for him to fully relax with them, and now he acts like he has loved them forever. With patience, a calm voice, and a steady routine, he blossoms into an incredibly loving and devoted companion. Nix would do best in a home with dog experience and a calm environment. A fenced yard would be ideal for him, though he can walk nicely on a leash. Because he is skittish at first and does not like hands reaching over him, we feel he would do best in a home without children. He has not been tested with cats, so we are unsure how he would do with them. For the right person, Nix will be an incredibly rewarding dog. Watching his confidence grow and earning his trust is a truly special experience. He is a sensitive, intelligent, and loving boy who is ready to find a patient home that will give him the time and security he deserves! Story
Meet Rizzoli 🐾🔍 Rizzoli, one of the adorable pups from the “Detective Litter,” is a 3 month old bundle of energy, sass, and sweetness! Don’t let her small size fool you—this tiny girl has a big personality and is always ready for her next adventure. As the smallest pup in the litter, Rizzoli has mastered the art of using her size to her advantage—especially when it comes to sneaking under the couch for a quick hideout! She’s quick on her feet, loves to run, and is always up for playtime. Whether she’s chasing toys or zooming around the yard, she brings nonstop fun wherever she goes. Rizzoli does great with other dogs and would love a playful canine friend. She hasn’t been around cats yet, so slow introductions would be important. She also absolutely loves toys… and has a particular fondness for “borrowing” your clothing as her chew toy of choice! She comes from a mix of corgi, dachshund, chihuahua, and terrier, and we expect her to stay on the smaller side of medium, around 20–30 pounds when fully grown. She’s currently working on crate training and, like many puppies her age, is still learning her manners—this includes being a bit “puppy bitey.” Because of this, she would do best in a home with children over 10 who can help guide her with positive reinforcement. Rizzoli and her siblings had some sensitivity to spring pollen early on, but she’s doing great now with proper care. To keep her comfortable and thriving, we recommend she continue on a salmon-based sensitive skin and stomach food. When she’s not zooming around or staging her next playful heist, Rizzoli is a total cuddle bug. She loves to snuggle up with her people and soak up all the affection she can get. If you’re looking for a small-but-mighty pup with a playful spirit, a mischievous streak, and a heart full of love, Rizzoli is ready to steal your socks—and your heart 💛 If you are interested in adopting Rizzoli, please fill out an application at https://new.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/FAY/Dog **Applications can take anywhere from 5-7 business days to complete. Story
Screech is an adult Pembroke Welsh Corgi & American Staffordshire Terrier mix. He is house-trained and up-to-date on vaccines, as well as flea, tick & heartworm prevention. All records are available. Screech loves attention almost as much as he loves treats. He is highly food motivated, which helps during his training sessions. He walks well on a leash, though can be excitable at times. Though he has the stature of a Corgi, he has the power of a Staffie, so he can pull and will need someone who has experience with strong dogs. While he has been exposed to dogs and cats, his ideal home would not have smaller animals due to his build and tendency to play roughly. I would also prefer if any dogs present were female to minimize any dominance behavior issues. He may be a bit timid at first, but at the first sign of doting - he will be your best friend. I truly wish I didn't need to rehome him, but due to health issues and time restraints I don't have the time that he deserves.
