Among the most agreeable of all small housedogs, the Pembroke Welsh Corgi is a strong, athletic, and lively little herder who is affectionate and companionable without being needy. They are one the world's most popular herding breeds. At 10 to 12 inches at the shoulder and 27 to 30 pounds, a well-built male Pembroke presents a big dog in a small package. Short but powerful legs, muscular thighs, and a deep chest equip him for a hard day's work. Built long and low, Pembrokes are surprisingly quick and agile. They can be red, sable, fawn, and black and tan, with or without white markings. The Pembroke is a bright, sensitive dog who enjoys play with his human family and responds well to training. As herders bred to move cattle, they are fearless and independent. They are vigilant watchdogs, with acute senses and a 'big dog' bark. Families who can meet their bold but kindly Pembroke's need for activity and togetherness will never have a more loyal, loving pet. Be ready to adopt. Adoptions can happen quickly so be prepared for our call, only apply for dogs that every family member in the home wants, and wait to apply until you return from your vacation. Story
I was found as a stray and am estimated to be between 2-3 years old. I love to go on walks and meet dogs and people. I am learning basic commands. I LOVE to rest on someones lap, I also like to cuddle. Loud noises dont seem to faze me. Sometimes, I chase the cat, even though she tells me not to. I get excited when I am going to eat or go on a walk. Other than that, Im pretty quiet. I like to be with people, I am working on building my confidence. I need to have access to a backyard, although because of my 10-pound size, it doest need to be a big one. In my weeks here, I have not destroyed anything. My current people keep me busy with toys, walks and lap naps. I get a lot of attention on walks because of my ear span. I have low pigment in my body ( see my pink nose?), so I need to take short trips into the Sun. I am monitored while outside most of the time because I do not want to be a coyote snack. I have been on many rides in the car. I get an allergy shot every 6 weeks or so.

Meet Green! She is the sweetest most adorable girll! She is a 6 month old that was rescued from a breeding farm before heading to a dog meat farm in South Korea.  We have partners we work with there that pull these dogs from the worst horrors imaginable.  Many of these dogs start off in horrific puppy mill type facilities on tiny rabbit cage size wire crates in complete filth.  If they are not sold at 6 or 8 weeks then they either stay for a couple years to be used to breed more and then are sold off to the meat trade, or they are sold off right away.  Jindo's and Tosa's are the most common meat type dogs, and are very commonly bred specifically for their meat and the meat farms also act as breeding farms until they reach a good age and weight. South Korea is one of the only countries that actually farms dogs for their meat.   Many restaurants will serve a dish called " bosintang ", which stands for "dog meat soup". It's a popular dish in South  Korea,  and is said to act as an aphrodisiac for men.    Little dogs are used for elixirs and potions.  The younger generation is mostly against this practice and many choose to not eat them, and we can only hope in time with education and generations of change that an end will come to this horrific trade.  Green and some of her family and friends have been flown here for a chance at a future and a real life.  These are miracle dogs that they are alive today.  Our adoption fee is $600 which helps offset some of the flight costs.  If you are interested in adopting, please fill out an application form at  https://form.jotform.com/oscarlucy/dog-adoption-app November 6, 2024, 7:29 pm
