Story
Gizmo is a very sweet little boy, however he does not like children due to them tormenting him in his previous home. He has the typical Pekingese personality and we require an adopter familiar with the breed. He would do great as the only dog in the household. He had food and resource guarding issues in the shelter, but we found that not to be problematic in our care. He is just a typical Pekingese. A sensitive breed with a strong personality. We think he is an exceptional little boy that any lover of this breed would adore. A quiet home with someone there most of the time that wants a constant loyal companion and who understands and loves this breed of dog is the best home for Giz. All potential adopters must fill out applications and be approved before meeting the pet they are interested in adopting. To adopt one of the precious lives that we have saved, this rescue requires an approved application, a suitable home environment, a signed adoption contract, and an adoption fee. If approved to adopt, we expect applicants to pick up their new pets in person at the pet's foster location. Thank you for understanding that these dogs' welfare and quality of life, for the rest of their life, is our top priority and why we must be extremely diligent in their placement. If interested in adoption or fostering for us, please click the following links.....To apply to adopt, please click this link: http://tennesseetoyrescue.tripod.com/application.htm To apply to foster one of our rescue dogs or volunteer for PP, please click http://tennesseetoyrescue.tripod.com/fosterapp.html Submission instructions are at the bottom of the application. Please email the completed application to: PreciousPawsADR@aol.com

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Dillon (AL) is a neutered male Pekingese/Lhasa Apso mix rescued in Alabama. Our veterinary partner estimates that Dillon is 4 years old at the time of intake in September 2023. Dillon is good with people, other dogs and and is good with cats. Dillon lived his entire life in a loving home, but his elderly person became unable to care for Dillon and was required to surrender Dillon so Dillon could find a new life with someone who could properly care for him.  Dillon is generally low energy. Dillon l ikes other dogs (he has 50 lb and 20 lb doggy siblings) and is food motivated. He’s a happy pup who loves to be close to his people. He didn’t like being picked up at first but now that he's comfortable, he’s totally fine with it. Dillon is playful, funny, and super sweet. He is housetrained and leash trained. If you would like to bring this boy home, please apply online to adopt Dillon (AL) at www.rescuedogsrocknyc.org.  RDR's adoption fees include the cost of spay/neuter/microchip at an RDR-approved facility, whether completed before adoption or if deferred because the pet is too young or has a medical issue.  All pets are also current on age-appropriate vaccines at the time of adoption. Given technical constraints on this database, this pet's location may not be as listed here. We can, however, provide transport support for pets in foster at a considerable distance from the adopter.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.July 4, 2024, 8:55 pm

Story
ALL our cats and dogs are in the NY area but can be adopted out of state to the purrfect furever home.  In some cases, we can help transport.  Zani's al fresco Summer Adoptions  follow us on FB to find us this summer as we will try new locations to meet the needs of NYC and support the little stores:)     Meet Winnie from Egypt. When we first found Winnie, a 1.5-year-old male dog, the sight was heartbreaking. He was dragging his back legs along the harsh streets, desperately trying to fend for himself. Examination at the clinic revealed that Winnie had suffered a severe blow to his back, leaving him unable to walk properly. Despite the physical trauma, his spirit remained unbroken. Winnie's gentle and loving nature quickly became apparent as we got to know him. He greeted everyone with a wagging tail and an eagerness to play, showing an incredible resilience that belied his physical condition. His high energy and playful demeanor brought joy to those around him. Winnie quickly made friends with people and other dogs, though he sometimes barked at cats with a curious, playful spark. His full control over his toilet habits demonstrated his determination to maintain his dignity despite his challenges. Winnie deserves a loving home where he can continue to thrive and share his boundless affection. Zanisfurryfriends.org       All dogs are located in NY/NJ area All our puppies need puppy play dates/doggy facetime so we recommend homes with other pups or daily interactions to keep them tired out, happy and social.     Facebook: Zani's Furry Friends ZFF (weekly adoption event info posted there) Twitter: zanisff  Instagram: zanisfurryfriends   Dogs are spayed/neutered, UTD on age appropriate vaccines, Rabies vaxed, and microchipped (not Lyme vaxed but we seriously recommend it!)  All are in the NY/NJ area but we will adopt out of state to the purrfect home and in some cases, we can arrange transport.  Please go to our site  https://zanisfurryfriends.org  fill out an application  Many of us (cats/dogs) will be on display on Saturdays or Sundays, weather dependent--please ask by writing us at dogs@zanisfurryfriends.org and following us on FB. If you are seriously interested in adopting one of us in particular, please fill out an application early Friday so that we can be sure to be there. Otherwise we decide based on other variables. Usually we are in our foster homes so this is a bit more stressful and a slightly artificial environment but we do want to be seen and find our furever homes too.   Please consider providing a home for more than one dog, especially if you are considering adopting a puppy. Dogs are pack animals and very much enjoy as well as need other dog company to learn to play, socialize and be good companion animals to people. The upside to this is that you won't feel as guilty leaving them alone and you get twice the love. Please come! And if you can't adopt, maybe you can foster or volunteer, and you can always donate! If you want to know about cats/dogs specifically being shown at our adoption locations, please email us info@zanisfurryfriends.org closer to the date so we know your interest and will make every effort to have that pet at the event or let you know how and where you can meet.  It is extemely helpful and speeds up adoption if the application is filled out prior to visiting us so please do that before coming to our weekend events. Our weekend locations are: Saturdays or Sundays, weather dependent  Follow us on FB, Zani's Furry Friends ZFF, for latest updates.
