Story
This petite and precious boy is named Pepe. Pepe is a rarity in the rescue world- a rescue dog with a history that we actually know some details of! Pepe’s past life was spent with a retired couple, that spent most of their time at home with him. That’s the life that Pepe wants, a quiet and simple life with preferably older people. He wants to be the baby of the house, spoiled, loved and pampered. Watch Pepe here: https://youtu.be/hEibyM7R2ww?si=PSNRobVY2gAVNlQc We think Pepe is a Jack Russel, Chihuahua mix of some sort, around 4 years old. He is a rescue, so his exact age and breed are unknown and cannot be guaranteed. Pepe is warm and friendly with strangers, and used to having friends and family in the house. Pepe is not accustomed to children, so we would not recommend him for a home with kids. He does well in public, and is easy on leash. Pepe is dog friendly, but slow introductions are recommended. Here at the rescue he did well meeting dogs of all shapes and sizes. He is currently fostered with other dogs and doing well! We think Pepe could fit into your pack, or enjoy life as a solo dog. Pepe was cat tested here at the rescue, and we believe that he is cat tolerant. Pepe could live with dog savvy kitties. Pepe’s perfect home would have at least one loving human to call his own, and an abundance of treats and pets to be had. He’s not too picky about the rest, he’s just ready for his forever home! We are willing to test Pepe with anything you need us to in order to ensure he’s the perfect match for you! We can make most anything happen! Just let us know. Please email emilyparsons@threelittlepittiesrescue.org with any questions. Why adopt from Three Little Pitties? The stray and animal overpopulation in the Greater Houston area is the highest in the nation. Statistics show that there are over 1 million homeless animals in this region alone. Three Little Pitties Rescue is a nonprofit dog and cat rescue that partners with the community to make a difference. Our mission is to reduce the homeless pet population through community outreach, free spay and neuter services, and saving all breeds of dogs and cats from the streets or animal shelters that oftentimes have no other option but to euthanize animals for space. This dog you’ve found online is lucky to be in our program, and even luckier to have you notice it! Three Little Pitties wants to set you and your new pet up for success! We know our dogs and we work hard to prepare them socially for adoption. We are a network of dedicated people who are heavily invested in seeing our animals thrive. From the moment they are accepted into our program, our Intake, Behavior & Medical teams prepare them for adoption by properly vetting, behaviorally assessing, and providing customized plans depending on the dog’s needs. We seek to adopt to families who understand that these are rescue dogs and will require continued training efforts, but will be well on their way to being the best dogs that they can be! It doesn’t stop there! Our adopters also receive these special perks: • 30 day trial of pet insurance with Trupanion (must register within 24 hours of first vet appt.) • A free private online dog training session with GoodPup plus low pricing for future sessions (approx $25 weekly for an 8 week course of one session per week) • One free bonus toy in every BarkBox when signing up for their Super Chewer subscription plan • 70% off of your first order of Fetch, a PNW based, organic fresh dog food loaf meal subscription plan • Coupons for a fun visit to Petco  • Access to our exclusive FB Adopters page, where you can network for play dates, resources, and connect with other adopters that share their passion for their adopted pup! We celebrated our 5 year anniversary this year! Through the combined efforts of all of our hardworking staff and volunteers, we have placed over 12,000 very lucky dogs and cats into amazing homes! By adopting from us, you save TWO lives! The pet you adopt, and you create an opportunity for another animal to be saved in that spot. Together, we can be heroes. Story
Daisy is experiencing so many firsts and boy is she excited! Toys, cozy beds, open arms full of love, she lights up over all these things like a kid on Christmas morning. This is a girl that is sweet, friendly, melts for belly rubs and is eager to please. Plus, she loves baby talk and loves to “hold hands” when she is next to you, it's a little bit of affection seeking and a little bit of quiet connection. Take a look for yourself https://youtu.be/e7Uxs4Z1KMY We estimate Daisy to be 1 year old, she weighs an adorable 28 lbs, and may be a Miniature Pinscher/ Kelpie mix. In rescue, age and breed are offered as educated observations, given she is a rescue we cannot know with 100% certainty. She sure is cute though and her size only adds to that! We introduced Daisy to new dogs and we could see she is a very playful girl who is still learning her doggie manners but she is young so this is expected. Her playful energy is not suited for every dog because it has puppy pushiness to it. Daisy could live with other dogs and would love to have a playmate. An ideal pairing would be a dog that is confident, playful, and can offer the occasional “teachable-moment” if her puppy pushiness needs it. No cats for Daisy - she’s much too interested. Thanks to her age and eagerness to please Daisy is going to very receptive to training. Polishing up her leash skills for walks and adventures along with mastering basic commands will be enjoyable and make you proud of how attentive she is. She listens well and responds beautifully to corrections from her people. Daisy is an incredible dog with an amazing sparkle in her eye and has so much amazing potential. She is going to be a loyal and loving companion! If you think Daisy is the girl for you please email kristin@threelittlepittiesrescue.org or complete an adoption application here: https://adopt.animalsfirst.com/animal/62cc8e128b02916730334440/6709653b1f11cd3c720d05a1 We facilitate adoptions across the US through our own internal transport to ensure the quality of care. We travel to WA, UT, OR, ID, VA, PA, OH, NY, CT, VT and Canada (Canadian adopters will need to pick up in Bellingham, WA or Brattleboro, VT for the eastern Canadian border)! Our pups travel in comfort with 24/7 care on our USDA licensed vehicles, including buses and cargo vans. You can join along on our private Facebook event page to follow their adventure, connecting you with other adopters and providing updates throughout their transport journey! You will get to meet your new pup over a video call before signing paperwork, creating a fun and personalized adoption experience! The adoption fee is $900.00 and includes all vetting (DAPP with booster, Bordetella, Rabies vaccine, multiple broad spectrum deworming treatments, spay/neuter, flea prevention, a 12 month heartworm preventative injectible, heartworm test and treatment if needed, a microchip with free lifetime registration, a high quality nylon Martingale collar, a health certificate deeming the pup healthy for travel, cost of transport*, and priceless years of love and loyal companionship! We have over 15,000 successful adoptions so far and have excellent Google Reviews: https://g.co/kgs/UQ5Pyai We care deeply about making the perfect match between dog and family for long term success. Our rescue has a 2 acre property in Texas where we assess every animal with trainers on staff, we modify behavior as needed, and create individualized behavior plans to help prepare dogs for their future families including crate training, potty training, leash walking, etc. Our fosters are able to attend group trainings and socialization play groups to keep dogs adoption-ready. Our on-site trainers support the positive growth of our dogs and we enjoy seeing their progress! Our commitment to comprehensive medical care sets us apart. We've received glowing feedback from veterinarians who commend our dedication to ensuring the health and well-being of every animal in our care with treatments that often go above and beyond. Our adoption fees reflect the extensive care and resources that go into each animal we save. The adoption fee is a donation to the mission and goes far beyond getting a fully vetted pet. The rescue’s hard costs alone for a healthy dog to go through our program typically range between $412 to $859, which includes boarding, food, medications, vaccines, and spay/neuter. For heartworm-positive dogs, hard costs are upwards of $1,120. Additionally, dogs requiring extended boarding, extra training, or extra medical care—such as dental work, vision care, or orthopedic care—can lead to expenses running into the thousands. Also, included in the fee are costs to cover transport up to the Pacific Northwest or East Coast. While adoption fees help cover part of these expenses, we want to emphasize that Three Little Pitties Rescue is not government funded. It doesn’t stop there! Our adopters also receive these SPECIAL PERKS: Extensive behavioral testing and information from trainers on our staff to ensure the perfect fit for your family Discounts on Embark DNA test kit- $30 off of Breed ID test & $50 off of Breed ID plus Health test 30 day trial of pet insurance with Trupanion A free private online dog training session with GoodPup, plus low pricing for future sessions 70% off of your first order of Fetch, a delicious PNW based fresh dog meatballs subscription Coupons for a fun visit to Petco 20% off of Dr. Cuddles pet first aid and hygiene solutions Discounted heartworm, flea prevention, and monthly dewormer Access to our exclusive FB Adopters page, where you can network for play dates, resources, and connect with other adopters that share their passion for their adopted pup! Did you know that the Greater Houston area faces some of the highest stray and overpopulation rates in the nation? We are a non profit charity.
