Story
Howdy! My name is Brandi and I am a spunky, active Jack Russell terrier mix. I came in to the pound as a stray but, thankfully, was rescued by Forever loved. I am a pretty smart little girl who knows the commands ‘sit, ‘shake’, ‘get down’ and ‘no’. I like toys, puzzle mats and taking walks so I can use my nose to smell all those interesting scents. Even though I have blindness in one eye, you would never know that by my zest for life! I have so much fun playing tug-o-war, fetch or having you chase me around with my squeaky toy. I am very curious so I like to be around you to check out what you are doing---maybe I can help out! I love meeting new people friends who will gently pet me and rub my belly. I am shy for about 2 minutes, then my tail starts wagging! My favorite time is when we can settle down together and snuggle on the couch or at bedtime. You give me some hugs and pets and I’ll give you some kisses and look adoringly into your eyes. Such a sweet time of day! I hope that I can be your only pet ‘child’ because I don’t like to share my toys or my people with other dogs. And because of my terrier instincts, I probably wouldn’t do well with cats or small pets either. But I promise that I have plenty of love and energy for all of us! I am reliably housetrained. My fur is soft, but wiry, so there’s not much shedding but I do need a trim and a brush at times. I take an inexpensive allergy med to keep me from itching and it works very well. So that’s all about me—a pretty normal Jack Russell breed dog. I am cute, cuddly, active and stubborn at times. I would love to meet you and learn all about you and our future together! Story
When it comes to a ‘special needs’ dog, there should be emphasis on the word ‘special’ – there is nothing more special than a dog like Dean! A 1.5 yr old Miniature Pinscher-mix, Dean was most likely born without eyesight. He is completely blind and was originally found on the side of a busy road by a Good Samaritan who luckily was able to save him before he got into the busy street or highway nearby! Despite his disability, nothing stops Dean from enjoying life to the fullest! He has a joyful spirit and doesn’t let what he doesn’t have bring him down. Due to his lack of eyesight, Dean works hard to learn his new environment. He’s a very smart boy, who adapts quickly, but he can get frightened by new sounds, especially loud ones like sirens. As a result, a quiet, low-key home is preferred for him. Dean would thrive in a home without children (young or older) or cats. The extra noises of children do make him uncomfortable, and he doesn’t quite understand why cats won’t play with him! He would greatly appreciate a home with a consistent routine that will give him ample time to get comfortable around any new visitors. Once he feels safe, he is the biggest love bug and wants to play! Dean takes comfort in the safety of his crate, which will be a great tool for his future family to continue using in order to provide him a safe, quiet place in his new home. Dean is potty trained at his current location and in a new unfamiliar environment, he will need to learn the routine of being let outside. He greatly would prefer being let outside in a private backyard over being put on a leash to go potty. He would love another dog friend to play with and help lead the way. Dean enjoys playing with toys and chewing on marrow bones, and if you can’t find him, he has most likely burrowed himself underneath blankets! This boy just wants to be loved and feel safe, and we know the perfect home is out there for him. He will bring so much joy to his perfect forever home! Dean’s adoption fee includes his completed veterinary exams, vaccinations, microchip and neuter. He’ll melt your heart at first sight.
