Story
Hello, I'm Camella! I'm as sweet as a sugar cookie, always ready to share a friendly tail wag or a cuddly snuggle. I'm a loyal companion, sticking by your side through thick and thin. I love playing fetch and I'm always up for a good belly rub. I've got a heart full of love and I'm just waiting to share it with someone like you. I promise to be your best friend, to listen when you need to talk, and to always be there for you. Adopting me means gaining a forever friend who will love you unconditionally. If you're interested in adopting me, fill out an adoption application online at www.polkcountyhumanesociety.org/adopt where you will also find a link to reserve me for an appointment. Some pets are in foster homes or may already have an appointment scheduled, so the appointment is important to make sure I will be available to meet you when you come. Polk County Humane Society is located in Bolivar, Missouri, but also makes transports to the Denver, CO, Des Moines, IA and St. Louis areas twice monthly. For potential adopters in those areas, we can do a virtual visit using FaceTime or another app. Just request an appointment using the same link, but note that you want the visit to be virtual. We will call you at the time of the visit once it is confirmed. For long distance transports to Colorado and Iowa, there is an additional $100 fee to cover the cost of the transport ($65) and a health certificate from a veterinarian ($35). For transports to St. Louis, the additional fee is $50 to help cover gas. Going that last mile home for our sweet pets! All of our pets are neutered or spayed, have vaccinations appropriate for their age, treated with flea/tick/heartworm prevention, dewormed and dogs are also microchipped. #adoptdontshop ##2244898##

Story
Hello! I am Julio. I am a mixed Terrier breed dog and under a year old. I am new in this world, but I am ready for my forever home. I am playful and full of energy.  I'm a puppy so I love toys and running around outside. Since I am still a puppy, I will need some basic training. I am full of love and ready to be part of a family.   If you are interested in adopting me, please go to the Ozzie and Friends website https://www.ozzieandfriendsrescue.org  November 6, 2024, 2:40 pm

Story
🍊 Meet Clementine: Your Pocket-Sized Bundle of Joy! 🐾 Looking for a sweet little companion to brighten your days? Meet Clementine, a charming pint-sized pup who's waiting for her forever family. This 13-pound cutie may be small in stature, but she's got a heart of gold and personality for days! Think of a delightful mix between a bouncy terrier and a herding-happy Corgi – that's our Clementine! With her adorably long body and short legs, she's like a living, breathing cartoon character who loves nothing more than playfully bouncing around and showing off her natural herding instincts. While she's currently feeling a bit timid in the shelter environment (who wouldn't be?), Clementine's true nature shines through when she gets comfortable. She's a natural snuggler who forms beautiful bonds with her human friends. In fact, she's already proven herself to be quite the social butterfly – she recently had a successful meet-and-greet with a senior bulldog, showing she can get along wonderfully with other dogs! Clementine would flourish in a loving home where she can come out of her shell and let her playful spirit soar. Whether you're looking for a cuddly companion or an entertaining friend for your resident dog, this little sweetheart could be your perfect match. Ready to give this precious girl the loving home she deserves? Come meet Clementine – we have a feeling you'll fall in love with her just as quickly as we did!

Story
Sweet terrier Jerry is super tiny, only 8 pounds!  Small we than most cats, he is busy putting on some weight, but that he will never be too big to snuggle in the smallest lap.  His fur is getting softer every day with a little salmon oil and since he is a terrier, he does not shed much, if at all.  He was surrendered with his brother Tom who gives him confidence.  They love to play together and even play with their much larger, foster doggos.  We would like to see Tom and Jerry adopted together in a home without small children as they may be stressed out in a busy loud household.  They are being offered at a reduced fee to keep them together, but we will consider separating them for the right home.  These terrier boys are neutered, chipped, fully vaxed for the year and ready to warm some laps! ##2251558##

Story
Look at how sweet this llittle lap dog is!  Tom is the larger and more confident of the brothers.  He is thin and should put on more more weight, but he curls nicely into your lap and is really sweet with both men and women (maybe prefers foster Dad a little).  His fur is a little course since he is a terrier and does not shed much.  He was surrendered with his brother Jerry and we would like to keep them together if possible as they give each other comfort and courage since they have been together since birth.  They were shy the first two days in foster, but treats and regular meals had them warming up quickly.  We would love to see them in a more mature household.  They will not be aggressive with kids, but they would likely feel stressed out in a loud, busy household.  Someone or a couple who have time to build their trust over their first 2-3 days of adoption (google "Rule of 3 for Dogs") will be rewarded with a pair of very loving lap dogs.  These terrier boys are neutered, chipped, fully vaxed for the year and ready to warm your home. ##2251556##
