Story
PWRESCUE.ORG *PHOENIX METRO AREA ONLY* Meet Jilly — A Sweet, Shy Little Terrier With a Big Heart! Jilly is a 1½-year-old, 22-pound terrier mix (likely Parson Russell Terrier/Wire-Haired Fox Terrier) who came to our rescue when her previous owner could no longer care for her. She’s a gentle, sweet girl with a soft spirit and a quiet, cautious way of taking in the world. Jilly is shy and sensitive, and she needs time, patience, and consistency to feel safe. New people and environments can be overwhelming for her, so building trust will be a gradual process—not something that happens overnight. But for someone willing to go at her pace, the reward is truly special. As she begins to feel secure, her affectionate and tender personality starts to shine through. Jilly is not a “turn-key” dog—she’s what we lovingly call a “project” pup. She will need an adopter who understands that her confidence will grow slowly with gentle encouragement and positive experiences. Right now, when she feels unsure, she may “pancake” (freeze) or try to retreat, so she’ll need patient guidance to help her navigate new situations. One thing that really helps Jilly blossom is the presence of another dog. She takes comfort in canine companionship and will require a home with a calm, confident dog who can help guide her and show her that the world isn’t so scary. She gets along beautifully with other dogs, especially those with a gentle, easygoing play style. A secure, fenced yard is also important so she can explore and decompress safely. And despite her shy nature, Jilly has an adorable, playful side—she’s a little collector! Shoes and small “treasures” may mysteriously disappear, only to be found tucked into her bed. It’s a sweet glimpse of the curious puppy she’s becoming. Jilly would thrive in a calm, patient home that values kindness, routine, and understanding. With time and love, she will continue to gain confidence and grow into a devoted, loving companion. If you have a gentle heart and the patience to help a shy dog feel safe, Jilly may be the perfect match for you. Jilly is up to date on vaccinations, spayed and microchipped.    If you are interested in this sweetheart, please visit our website at:  https://pwrescue.org and click on the "Adoption Application" button to complete an application.  Pathways Home Animal Rescue April 6, 2026, 5:09 pm

Story
MEET GLENN!!! Glenn is a fun-loving, resilient dog who came to us from the county shelter’s euthanasia list after being brought in as a stray. When he arrived, he was fearful and under-socialized, but he has made meaningful progress with patience and care. Glenn would do best as an only dog. While he can tolerate some dogs, he tends to be protective and truly thrives when he can have his people to himself. Leash training is still a work in progress, as Glenn has lingering fear due to being previously caught in a snare while living as a stray. Once he has time to warm up, Glenn is friendly with people and children. He prefers a calm, predictable home where he can feel safe, secure, and closely bonded with his humans. He is energetic, patient, and very treat-motivated and when his person settles down, he’s more than happy to curl up and be a devoted couch potato.  If you are interested in meeting this dog, please visit our website for our online application www.underdogaz.com   March 7, 2026, 4:34 pm
